He was apparently laying on the ice holding his head for an extended time while the refs let play continue. After the play ended with a Maine goal we got multiple guys sent to the box. The only penalty put up was 2 for unsportsmanlike, so I assume it was some combination of unsportsmanlike and misconducts for harassing the refs about letting him lay there.

Yes, it was a 2 minute bench minor for unsportsmanlike conduct. Madigan wasn't very happy with the non call hit to the head on Saucerman.

Saucerman went out with a head injury and I'd imagine if it's remotely real he's out Monday.

ZAR also didn't play, no idea why.

Madigan on Saucerman's injury: "He was hit from behind. He's just got some neck issues there, I think he'll be ok"

Madigan on why Aston-Reese didn't play: "He got hit last night and he was sore. Just thought it made sense to sit him for tonight and let his body recover and hopefully he'll be ready to go Monday."

I'm not as concerned about the final score as I am the injuries. Every team has a clunker once in awhile where things just don't go your way. I do have some nagging bad vibes about the latter part of the Friday night game, though.

Looks like DQ over on lower Comm. Ave. also went with the backup goalie and might have rested a couple of guys.

On to the Gahden.

Meanwhile from the UNH thread from few days back when they beat BU.. thanks Snively65 on your take..

In catching up with the past two pages of posts, I earlier overlooked Chuck's comments that BU does not have what it will take to go all the way this year. I think that he is right, as UNH exposed BUs lack of depth tonight, which a good friend and lifelong BU fan also has confided to me. UNH third and fourth lines scored their three even up goals against BUs second, third, and fourth lines, and UNH first PP unit scored against BU first PK unit (Eichel et al). Besides junior Grzelcyk, who got his third and fourth goals of the season tonight, BU skates four frosh on D, along with a sophomore when junior Oksanen does not play the blue line. Two of the three UNH even up goals were when BUs third D pair was on the ice, the other when Grzelcyk and frosh blue line mate were on the ice.

..At least the Cats learned tonight that they can play with anyone in HEA. I would really like to see Willows, Thrush, and whomever on the ice whenever Eichel's line is out there, should the opportunity arise again this season, as all three BU goals were scored against our third line tonight..
