Yeah it was a nice rush that ended up being more or less a 4 on 1... then after the initial safe there was a loose puck and all 4 forwards crashed and hard to tell what happened but somehow it went in.

Nanooks score to tie it 1-1

Fourth line on the ice for Maine. It would be ever, ever so nice to replace them with Leen-Higgins-Pecararo.

Well, the score if about right in my opinion. On the one hand that second goal Romeo gave up looked weak. On the other there were several times where a nanook or two were in on the doorstep with Romeo scrambling to make saves and control the rebounds. I didn't see many defensemen protecting the net front.

Maine has about 30 seconds of power play time to start the second period. Hopefully they can take advantage of it to level the score and start getting some sustained offensive zone pressure.

Shore gets one. 4-2 UAF with 2:57 left.

Not much to say about this weekend except that it was completely pathetic. The guys did not come to play at all. Red better give them a ton of hell on that 3,000-mile flight back East, and they had better come to play next weekend. Lot of Timmay hockey out there this weekend.

I think thats a bit harsh. I could barely stay awake for last night's game so can only imagine how they felt. How long have you watched Maine play on olympic sheets? Even when Shawn was coach Maine sucked on them. They'd do ever so well even to beat John Bapst on an olympic sheet. We should find out a lot about the team in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully at least two of Higgins, Pecararo, and Leen come back.

Yes, they fly to Boston after the game according to the Maine radio announcer.

Those are just excuses, though. No more of these Timmay-esque excuses. The fact of the matter is we went up there and laid a pair of eggs. If we don't get at least a win and tie against Union, we're in trouble.

If it makes you feel any better the UAF announcers said Maine looked much better than Wisconsin, and they had a much shorter flight. I'm not too bothered. If Maine gets beat up by UAA down here then I will be worried.
