      You're reading comprehension is shoddy. Go read the post a second time. The first sentence says it was a 5 on 3. Further, the post says Stastny was coming out of the box--only Stastny, no one else. Ergo, it must have been a short handed goal.

          As the DU men's lacrosse team heads into the conference post-season tourney it's holding steady at #4 in the polls. The Pioneers face Rutgers on Thursday.

            All BIG EAST Honors
            Senior Jeremy Noble was named the Midfielder of the Year, while junior teammate Ryan LaPlante was tabbed Goalkeeper of the Year.
            In all, Denver led with seven All-BIG EAST selections, including a conference-best six on the first team. Noble and LaPlante were named to the first team alongside junior Wes Berg (33 goals, 15 assists, 5 EMO goals) at attack, junior Erik Adamson (33 G, 7 A, 16 ground balls) at midfield, freshman Christian Burgdorf (13 games played, 18 GB) on defense and senior goalkeeper Jamie Faus (14 GP, 4-2, 8.20 goals-against average, .540 save percentage) at the coaches’ at-large selection. Sophomore attackman Jack Bobzien (34 G, 17 A) was the Pios’ sole second-team representative.

              Meanwhile, University of Denver women's lacrosse head coach Liza Kelly was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Coach of the Year for the second-straight season, and five Pioneers were named to the All-MPSF Teams, the league announced today.

              Jill Remenapp (Woodbine, Md.), Hannah Hook (Arnold, Md.), Sonorah Vinyard (Denver, Colo.) and Meredith Harris (Middleburg, Va.) were voted to the All-MPSF First Team, while Layne Voorhees (Alexandria, Va.) was named All-MPSF Second Team. Remenapp and Hook both earned All-MPSF First Team last season, while Vinyard, Harris and Voorhees are claiming the honors for the first time.

              Denver hosts the Women's MPSF Lacrosse Championship at Barton. You can catch DU's 1st game, Friday May 2 at 4:00 pm MT on Pioneervision. Championship game is Sunday at 11:00 am MT on PioneerVision.

                OT not kind to the Avs or Eagles, although it was in the 4th OT before the Eagles fate was decided.

                  Wes Berg with 5-2-7 today led the way for the Pioneers. Denver will play in the championship game saturday afternoon versus the winner of the Villanova-Marquette game.

                          After 3 quarters in men's lacrosse:

                          Denver 11
                          Villanova 6

                          Since trailing 4-2, the Pioneers have outscored the Wildcats 9-2. Wes Berg, Zach Miller and Jack Bobzien are leading the way on offense for Denver, each with a hat trick.
