I thought the odd team out of the North Star Cup got to host the Gophers for two games? I know BSU did last year since they sat out, so that would mean the games with either Mankato, St. Cloud or Duluth would be two road games for the Gophers. Or did something change already?

SCSU is the team out next year and has opted to play UMN home-and-home over the next two years in lieu of a straight home series next year.

AHA is going to have 28 conference games (up from 27). Now with 11 teams, each team will play four teams four times and six teams twice. Pairings will be assigned every two seasons by random draw. For the teams you play twice, one year will be a road series and the next year home.

They'll never be anywhere in the PWR with only six NC games against teams that can beef it up!, ECAC has 12 team and 22 league games and that's perfect! Me thinks NC scheduling is going to get a lot harder for teams like SLU looking for 12 games!
9/11/01 - Stewie & Pelch, you are missed by the SLU Family.

I like the SLU /UVM series. Maybe not 2 per year but I hope they keep it on the schedule.

                  I sure hope you're right!

                  - This was supposed to be a reply to Chris Lerch concerning the AHA schedule.

Actually, it isn't too bad for Atlantic, seeing as how from a PWR standpoint they are a no-win situation. Beat them, your RatingsPI goes nowhere. Lose to them, you can kiss an at-large bid goodbye. At least we have more room to play Hockey East as they're now the same as EZAC with 22 league games. Big Ten and NCHC also have a bit more room.

The original mandate of the league was cost containment. The idea, at least then was to limit travel. Further, this give them 14 home games regardless of what else happens.

Thanks! Makes sense I guess as then SCSU can at least get one guaranteed gate against the Gophers the next two years instead of two in one year. And with the schools only ~70 miles apart, it is easy enough to do.

We need a replacement co-host in Florida...

I really like the ECAC conference/NC balance. Now if the Ivies would just put on their big girl panties and go to a full schedule.
