Not a good start to the no-Olympians period. Bemidji always plays UND, and many other teams, tough but UND still should have swept. Looks more and more like UND @ UM in the ncaa's unless some things happen in the conference tournaments. I'm actually not complaining about the often first round matchup of late. To win it all and be the best, you should be able to beat everyone. I still believe this year's team can.

Not a good start to the no-Olympians period. Bemidji always plays UND, and many other teams, tough but UND still should have swept. Looks more and more like UND @ UM in the ncaa's unless some things happen in the conference tournaments. I'm actually not complaining about the often first round matchup of late. To win it all and be the best, you should be able to beat everyone. I still believe this year's team can.

I was able to make both games this weekend and while they definitely had problems with BSU at times, it looked like Bemidji was playing like it's old frustrating self. Idalski even commented on it in the game story. "“We’ll take the win and run, but that was a classic, old-school, UND-Bemidji State game; who can dump the puck more and chase it” (source)

I'm not too worried about the loss of the Olympians. Jakobsen looked amazing, like she always has all season. She just stuck out more without having Karvinen, Tapani and Dufault around her. I also thought Menke looked really good too, that's a promising freshman forward. It was also good to see production from the Marvins.

So with the combination of the loss of the Olympians, not having a full lineup (Dufault and Jensen out), and BSU playing better defensively, we are far from jumping ship. It would just be nice to get some upward movement in the Pairwise, or if the committee would just use the KRACH

Includes photos of each of the athletes from Sochi and other relevant info. Haven't seen anything close to this much coverage from any of the other schools in the WCHA. Maybe they're waiting for the men's games to start?

In the games I saw, which was most of them, she really stood out and was a difference-maker.

It's a really a shame that her career is almost over, Michelle Karvinen is an amazing player. Karvinen doesn't seem fazed about having to win the WCHA Frozen Faceoff to make it to the NCAA Playoffs. I wish she had one more year. I know UND applied to get her one more year, but I am not very hopeful.
