Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

Sadly, I believe DL is correct. Yes, it's messed up. Even I was debating "do/does" and just said fuggit, don't care.

I actually agree with him, and say it the same way. I just remember during the lockout when he was covering the Gophers Russo commented on how it was nice to say "Gophers are" as opposed to "Wild is" as the Strib editors make him say. I think even he's a little annoyed with it.

Yeah...I certainly don't blame Russo. I blame stupid people in positions of power who think they know what they're talking about.

It really comes down to whether you're refering to the team (the Wild is) or the players (the Wild are). In the case of the Gophers folks just say the Gophers are because it sounds like you're not playing with full deck to say 'the Gophers is.'

Another 2 mn of my life totally wasted in responding on this issue.
                  Go Gophers!

Those who came up with the stupid Wilds name have been sacked.

The hockey gods are punishing you for continually bumping this dam thread.

You're gonna miss the first step of the Hawks' sweep.

As long as we win the series, I don't mind incurring the hockey gods' wrath.

My kid's spring season is over mid May and if the Hawks are still alive, I'll be free for every game.

I'm far from confident of a Hawks sweep. The Wild actually concern me, but we'll see.

Remind me again of what happened the last time the Hawks won the President's Trophy?

Actually, don't remind me. I was at all three games at the Met Center.

If we can win this series and then beat the Pens in the Finals, maybe I'll be able to let the ghosts of 91 & 92 rest in peace. Maybe although I doubt it.

Definitely. Favors the Hawks, though. If this was a thread about the Wild, I would express my concerns here.
