here's a video of the headshot to JD'A. Certainly appears Jerry had his head down and never looked up to see the hit coming.....Head up to all you youngsters out there. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eb1I7UdI8MI) .......... BTW, Coach Carlyle said the injury that Jerry did not return from was his shoulder.....

In looking at Bortuzzo/D'Amigo, we see unavoidable head contact on an otherwise full body hit. Will not be pursuing supplemental discipline. ........https://twitter.com/NHLPlayerSafety

With Chicago signing journeyman goaltender, Jason LaBarbara, the Hawks sent Kent Simpson back to Rockford and Allen York was released from his PTO. I assume he'll go back to Evansville (keeping a suitcase at the ready)....http://theahl.com/stats/transactions.php

What are the chances that he gets to be the #1 goalie and plays regularly throughout the series? He needs to play on a regular basis somewhere.

Looks like Yorkie was the backup to former NHL goalie, Chris Mason, as Team Canada wins their first game in the Spengler Cup.....http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/w...-spengler-cup/

Yorkie gets the start today for Team Canada, 0-0 after 1 period. Game is supposed to be televised through TSN but I see nothing. Maybe nothing till the 2nd period starts?..... http://stats.hockeycanada.ca/schedul...bseason=140708

Team Canada lost today in the Semifinals of the Spengler Cup to HC Geneve Servette 6-5. Allen York got the start but was pulled at 3:07 of the 2nd period after giving up 3 goals on 12 SOG. Yorkie was replaced by Matt Hackett of the Roch. Amerks who TC had beaten on Sunday while he was the Rochester goalie. As noted in Post #642 Yorkie replaced Chris Mason for the 3rd period of that game so maybe Mason was injured. Also of note, Yorkie is credited with allowing all 6 goals today but if you clik on the Play By Play in the link you'll see Yorkie was replaced @ the 3:07 mark of the 2nd by Hackett and there was no mention of any other goalie change the rest of the way (except for when TC pulled the goalie at the end)..... http://stats.hockeycanada.ca/game/sh...ferrer=1048002
