Do people want time to discuss the teams on the list from a historical standpoint? Well, that was the intention of the thread and the list. I try my best to post as often as I can, yet still give time for discussion.

Why mess with success? You've done it this way all along, last year and this year. Drop the timetable entirely, or at least expand it considerably, then post when you have the time and inclination.

Since you have limited time available, some people might be more interested in learning how the top 100 tournament plays out. The full list from the end of 2013 season is available for those who want to see it, that list is "merely" being updated for 2013-2014 results.

The Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs come in at #16. The Bulldogs are one of only 3 programs in the top 20 of these rankings to have a winning percentage under .500. They are tied for the fewest NCAA Tournament appearances out of the top 20 programs (in fact, 4 programs from outside the top 20 have more appearances). They are tied for the fewest regular season conference championships won. On the flip side, the Bulldogs have the fourth highest winning percentage in NCAA Tournament games among the top 20 programs, and have done more in fewer opportunities, averaging 1.75 wins/tournament appearance, second amongst top 20 programs. Duluth struggled last season, finishing .500 in the inaugural season of the NCHC. After winning a combined 95 games from 2008-2012, the Bulldogs have won just 30 games in the past two seasons. However, UMD returns 5 of their top 6 scorers from a season ago, and 16 of their top 18. While the Bulldogs are a bit young between the pipes, if they find reliable goaltending, the Bulldogs should be a team that could contend for some hardware and a return trip to the NCAA Tournament. If they do that, they could move up the rankings, but for now, they sit at #16.

Question why do you include in parenthesis ie (Division 1)? All the school are D1 unless your data base includes D3?

That is the program's record at the Division 1 level. Several programs have played at multiple different levels (ex. Bemidji State), but I only use their games as a Division 1 program in my data.

The Clarkson Golden Knights come in at #15. Clarkson rebounded in 2013-2014, winning 21 games for the first time since 2007-2008 (also the last time Clarkson advanced to the NCAA Tournament). Despite the strong season, the Knights missed out on the NCAA Tournament. Clarkson has done just about everything there is to do at the Division 1 level with the exception of winning it all. The program's .622 winning percentage ranks fourth all-time. Their 1363 wins are only topped by five different programs. They have advanced to 20 NCAA Tournaments, second amongst teams that have failed to win the title. The Knights' 13 NCAA Tournament victories are also good for second amongst teams without a national championship. Clarkson's six Frozen Four wins are the most for a program without the ultimate prize. As a result of this tremendous amount of success, the Knights are the best program in college hockey history without a national championship. Clarkson will have their work cut out for them next season in the difficult ECAC, as they lose 4 of their top 5 scorers from last year's squad. However, the Knights do return all of their goalies and their entire blueline. If that group can keep up the solid work from last season, perhaps win some conference hardware, and maybe even that prize that has eluded the program for decades, the Knights should make a charge up the charts. For now, they sit at #15.

I am actually leaving for a much needed vacation this afternoon. My father-in-law, brother-in-law, and I go on a man trip each fall. This year...leave for Chicago tonight, then headed up to Green Bay for the Packers-Vikings game on Thursday Night. Driving back to Chicago after the game, then going to the Fleetwood Mac Concert at the United Center on Friday Night. Saturday we are getting up early and going to South Bend for the Irish-Stanford game (tentative - we don't have tickets yet for this game). After the game heading down to Indy, then going to the Colts-Ravens game Sunday afternoon. After the game we are driving to Cincinnati to catch a flight for D.C. Then we're hanging out in D.C. for the day before Monday Night Football, Redskins-Seahawks. Then we fly back to Denver on Tuesday. 8 states, 1 district, 5 events, 6 days, 3 guys...fun stuff. Then I sleep for 9 days to recover

Consequently, for those paying attention, there won't be any updates until next Wednesday (slight possibility of Tuesday). At that point, I'll probably do 2-3/day to finish it up by that Sunday.
