Does anyone know if we have a holiday tournament lined up this year?
Figured it was time to get around to this...
Louie Belpedio was drafted by Windsor last week (BOO), and commited to the U-17 squad for next season, nice to see that pipeline continue.
Anthony Louis was called up join Hartman, Sieloff and Barber at the World U-18's. Hartman had a goal and assist in the USA's exhibition loss to Sweeden.

No idea about a holiday tournament. However, I wanted to acknowledge the witty thread title.![]()
Love and honor to Miami forever and a day. Go RedHawks!
Little bit of scuttlebutt...I wasn't overly thrilled with Wilson's stats, but apparently MU has been after him for a while. Size and smarts could make him another Hirschfeld type so that would be decent until all these talented forwards get here.
So is anyone betting that we may have our first sophmore wearing a letter this season since Jonesy?
C - Captain Curtis
A - Hartman
A - Czarnik
Appears that it will be Colgate (@Goggin) and Wisconsin (TBA) for NC games this fall.
First time Miami plays Wisconsin since 1993 when welcomed us to the NCAA tourney.
According to this article we are the home team for the Soldier Field game

USHL update for last night...
Kurlay: ENG, Assist, +2, 9 SOGs
Caito: -1, 5 SOGs, 2 PIMs
Morris: No statistics to note
Gacek: -3 (ewww), 1 SOG
McKay: W, 19 saves on 20 shots
Indiana Ice won their series against Dubuque Fighting Saints 3-0.
Green Bay Gamblers won their series against Youngstown Phantoms 3-1.
Love and Honor
Also, forgot to mention Cameron Schilling scored his first professional goal last night for the Hershey Bears in a game they ended up winning in overtime to save them from elimination. Ended the game with 1 G, +2, and 0 PIMs (impressive since he was averaging a penalty a game in the final 7 games of regular season)
Love and Honor
In the following seasons after all the realignment takes place it'd be nice to get the three Ohio DI hockey schools (Miami, Bowling Green, and Ohio State) together for a holiday tournament. Those three teams plus a random fourth team, maybe from an eastern conf like Hockey East or the ECAC could be a fun tourney in a few years.
Didn't work out so well the first time (sans BG as a regular participant), but I would be all for it.

It might work better once the three Ohio schools are in separate conferences. It adds a bit of spice to the Non-con schedules, also keeps some regional/in-state rivalries. With BG and OSU on the rise and Miami a perennial power it could be a very entertaining tournament.
