      Re: 2012-13 Division 1 schedule

Here is a peek at the UNH Wildcats tentative schedule as copied directly from Coach McCloskey's Blog:

As promised, I wanted to update our schedule for the benefit of those looking to travel or join us in Durham for some of our contests. Although there remains a couple of tweaks to the final schedule because of some conflicts within our league, the non league slate is pretty much set in stone.

We open on the 5th and 6th of October with a weekend road series: October 5th @ Syracuse October 6th @ Colgate

On the third weekend of October, we play a home and home series with Boston College.

The last weekend of the month, October 27th and 28th we’ll be at Wisconsin for a pair with the Badgers.

November kicks off with a pair of home contests with St Lawrence on the 2nd and 3rd.

November 10th and 11th we’ll be playing a split Hockey East weekend with BU and Providence.

November 17th we’re at Maine for a single, returning home to play a midweek Tuesday night contest with Quinnipiac on the 20th.

Thanksgiving is on the Thursday of that week which is the 22nd. We’ll play a home series on that following weekend, November 24th and 25th versus the Gophers from Minnesota.

We also play an exhibition game with the Russian National Team on Wednesday November 28th to close out the month.

The first weekend of December we have a home and home with Northeastern.

The following weekend we play Harvard on the 8th of December and most likely Dartmouth that weekend as well before heading into the exam break.

The second half of our schedule opens on the second weekend of January and other than a second contest with Dartmouth, we’ll be into league play for the final 7 weeks of the regular season.

I should have the remainder of the adjustments finalized within the next two weeks, but the above dates are all fairly much set in stone. Hopefully this helps those who have to make plans well in advance for travel purposes.

Pretty close to accurate, though some things have changed since that was posted a while back, including Dartmouth is only one game (away), and the date hasn't been finalized yet.

All three of the former Division III coaches that are now coaching Division I teams will meet each other next season.

Colgate (ex-Elmira coach Greg Fargo) will play both Vermont (ex-Amherst coach Jim Plumer) and RIT (Scott McDonald) next season.

            But RIT doesn't play Vermont.

Wow! Mankato has a brutal road stretch to end October and carry through November

Certainly not going to be any picnic for the Mavericks from the get go. They could be in rough shape after that first half. They'll need a handful of surprising results if they're not going to be out of it fairly early.

Actually, I think a few teams would like to play some early home games against the new Badgers.

For the competition? Thinking the new Badgers are going to be a pushover? Not quite understanding what you're saying.

WI graduated a couple hundred points. Take away one player, and the 2013 Mavs probably return as much goal scoring as the 2013 Badgers. Maybe Decker can carry the team in back-to-back games, but she will be a target.

MSU allowed more than twice as many goals per game as UW. The Mavericks graduated their primary goaltender; Rigsby returns for the Badgers, as does most of the blue line. Decker won't have to carry UW. Knight, Prévost, and Brooke Ammerman are huge losses, but Bucky will still have more talent up front than all but a short list of teams. How short is still TBD.

Well my money is gonna be on UW in the Maverick / Badger match-ups for 2012-2013. Decker has been a target for awhile. Seems to handle it pretty well...and as ARM states, she will not be alone.
