You should be able to find your answer within the confines of BC. Two years ago the FF was in Erie, and BC with Stack and Schaus were in Erie. Check with the BC folk familiar with the travel itinerary that year. Failing that, ask your buddies at BU. They were in the final in Erie and will gladly fill you in on the details.
P.S Fairly sure Wisco flew to Erie that year. (Even though I did see the Badger bus at the rink).

TTT...If you look long enough you will find it.... Two years ago BC and BU SHARED a flight to ERIE
.......something for you to munch on
"The Eagles shared their flight out to Erie with Boston University, which could make for an interesting trip back should the two archrivals — located a mere streetcar ride apart on Commonwealth Avenue — meet for the NCAA Championship on Sunday."
over the past 4 years ALL games to Boston...Maine...Conn...Providence...etc have been flights for Mercyhurst usually to and from Pittsburgh.. 2 hour bus to/from Erie

I think TTT asked the question with the NCAA tournament in mind, for which air travel is governed by specific distance rules, and the cost paid for by the NCAA. The NCAA committee will often adjust the rankings/pairings in order to minimize air travel. This is documented in the championships guidelines. That is why you will often see a WCHA intra conference match-up in the quarters.
What teams do on their own dime during the season is their choice. Team one of my D's plays on is on the east coast, and they bussed it to Erie when they played MC there a few years ago.

Mercyhurst University officials announced the closing of its Erie campus today, effective at 12:30 p.m., after a water main break that had created pressure issues on Wednesday worsened, leaving some areas of campus without water.
Meanwhile, weekend events planned on the Erie campus, including athletic contests, Friday’s screening of “Argo,” and Saturday’s Erie Festival of Dance and Teaching & Learning Expo, have been canceled. Mercyhurst athletics officials were investigating alternative sites for this weekend’s hockey games. More details to follow.
Erie Insurance Arena (aka Civic Center/Tulio) is a no-go for Friday since they are hosting a basketball game end the Otters play Saturday night. If I hear about a location, I will update the post.
No heat, hot water, limited facilities, and worst of all, no hockey. Lindenwood might be looking like a great place to spend the weekend (as long as there's ice!)

We greatly enjoyed our visit to Lindenwood back in the fall. You have the start of the Lewis and Clark trail, the famous St. Louis Arch just a few miles down the road, and of course what Iceisnice roadtrip would be complete without a casino stop!
Unfortunately, Iceisnice is not traveling this weekend, Erie or otherwise. Iceisnice will be enjoying the local ice only.
But seriously, Mercyhurst does not have any open weekends the rest of the season so if they can't find a way to play these games, I wonder if they may just cancel them permanently.

CU at BU Sunday? We could use an extra fan, and I'm sure you could think of a few reasons to pick UNH over BU!

I have been told that Friday's game will be at 3:00 PM at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena (about 45 miles due East from Erie) and Saturday's game will be at the Erie Insurance Arena (Home of the 2011 Women's Frozen Four) at 2:00 PM.

ERIE, Pa. - All Student have been asked to leave Mercyhurst Un campus by 8pm tonight due to the water main break in the City of Erie. The Mercyhurst University campus will be closed through the weekend. The Mercyhurst University women's hockey games, scheduled to be played at the Mercyhurst Ice Center this weekend, have been relocated.
Friday's game, scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon, will now be played at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena in Jamestown, N.Y. Faceoff is still scheduled for 3:00 p.m. against the Lady Lions of Lindenwood University.
Saturday's game, originally scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, will now be played at the Erie Insurance Arena in downtown Erie. Faceoff has been moved back to 2:00 p.m., also against the Lady Lions of Lindenwood University.
Also, due to the changes in venue, the games will NOT be broadcast on America One this weekend.

Come up this way for worlds in April....Great Casino across the river in Gatineau, Quebec...You can even stop in at the Mohawk reserve on the way up. That place is thriving 24/7. Just make sure you stay clear of the border patrol. They are vigilant around that reserve.
You should come for a visit to our barn with your old buddy from Assabet this weekend. Great team in Town Saturday, scouting opportunity for you. To entice you even further there is the post game parent player gathering on Saturday in the luxury suite. You are most welcome to join that festivity.
