    2) I sure regret not being your travel partner like back in '08.

The frozen 4 was great this year. In my personal opinion, any of these 4 teams could potentially have been middle to upper of the standings in Atlantic hockey this year.

            Future of the DIII Championships

The "other" site has a nice article about the future of the D3 championships, and the endless possibilities. Nothing definitive, but some good off-season fodder.

Re: Future of the DIII Championships

In my opinion, that will be the beginning of the end of DIII hockey. The NESCAC schools will leave the NCAA playoffs due to the extended end of the season. Combine that with schools who cannot afford to maintain ice the extra couple weeks , along with schools that do not have their own ice having no practice facility available, and we are looking at (at BEST) and 8 team playoff.
With the increased costs, and difficulties, and 2013 will be my LAST DIII championship experience.

I just don't see how combining the Championships is a viable option. Taken what jerrynu26 just wrote directly points out some of the problems. I really hope the NCAA doesn't mess with a good thing.

The 1980 US hockey team was one of the best event to ever hapen to mens ice hockey. With that said who in their right mind would pay 1million dollers for a jersey?

It is surprising what some of these collectors will pay.
