You're right; Yale had generational players overlap with Hartje, Dalton, Welch, and Seitz. To have the latter three all leave at the same time understandably left a bit of a void....

There has been some evolution in media coverage. In the early years, about the only time I remember a women's NCAA hockey mention on ESPN, outside of the obligatory "congratulations to so-and-so on winning the NCAA women's ice hockey championship," was when the Tom Mutch scandal broke at BC....

Doesn't really belong here, but there isn't a Delaware thread, and I'm too lazy to look for a CHA thread:

Minnesota has historically done okay with kids from Mission, even though geography would favor Wisconsin. I'm sure that having Bozek helped to get Sidney Peters, Cara Piazza, and Sophie Skarzynski. Murphy and Huber were a later wave.
The province of BC is the other place where they've made inroads....

This particular issue isn't one caused by tOSU. We just saw the first Minnesota HS product win a Kaz at a program other than UM.
Bally Sports North has several times aired a feature where Audra Martin sits down with Stecklein, Brandt, Pannek, and Cameranesi to talk about their athletic...

This past season, SLU made the biggest move upwards in points, while Yale suffered the largest drop. Whose roster sets up for success in 2024-25?

I didn't say that they were all strange goals. Usually, the Goph's just keep turning the puck over until someone in the shooting gallery hits the net. This year, it gave more of an appearance of being under control, but the light went on anyway....

When recapping games, I always hated first periods like that with nothing to write about that is going to be part of the story of the game. I'd say a slight advantage UW; it better follows their script of a nothing first period, and increasing forecheck pressure as the game goes along. The Buckeyes...

What they don't tell you when giving you that choice is that once you're blind/legless, then they continue to remove body parts at leisure.
I want tOSU to win, so that I can enjoy one more year of hearing experts like A.J. and Angela pat themselves on the back for winning a national championship...

The foundation of the Gophers' success has been getting the best players from Minnesota. I doubt they will be the best until that starts to happen again. There have been a number of seasons like last year where if things had broken differently, they might have won. It's different when you're the best...

If I'm remembering correctly, ESPN didn't show the UW win over UM in its entirety in the rebroadcast, as they edited it down to fit in a two-hour window. I think part of OT was missing. That will matter more to a fan looking to be able to always remember a game, while someone like me is trying to forget...

This is likely a good conversation for another day, but one thing that increases the probability of us remembering UM blowing leads is that they have held a lead in a lot of postseason games for a lot of years. How many postseason games has a program like Union even played during a similar number of...

In 2013, the year when all three finalists were Gophers, there was a fire alarm (kitchen fire at the facility, IIRC) during the ceremony. The bonus was that the finalists were able to include photos with the first responders and the firetruck in their memories of the day....

It's never been an MVP award.
Congratulations to Izzy Daniel on being the first player from Cornell, a program that has had many great ones, to win the Kaz!...Last edited by ARM; 03-23-2024, 01:06 PM.

Before the season started, it looked like these were the two most talented teams. The best in the ECAC proved they were close, but couldn't quite close the gap.

It's always going to be an uphill climb when you're outshot 3 to 1.

I didn't realize Muzerall had never won this; last WCHA coach to win was Crowell in 2017.

If I'm UW, I'd gladly take the 200 x 100 if that's what it still is. You have a lot of players who excel with open ice....
