I think the relatively last minute addition of Dubuque shuffled up their schedule and made it difficult to fill the final slot. An extra quality non-conference win could have helped them quite a bit in the pairwise. Hopefully they can get an east region opponent on the schedule next year.

They played Lawrence on a Saturday night at the end of January and the attendance was 528, so it wasn't half empty, it was two-thirds empty.
I agree with your other points, but from a fan experience perspective, if I was designing a new rink for just SNC it would seat 1k max with maybe some...

The new rink will be great for Green Bay area hockey. For SNC specifically, I'd honestly prefer if they kept playing at Hilliard-Weyers (their current rink). They have a hard enough time drawing 500 fans for anything other than an NCAA tournament game. Add on the history they have at that rink.

I'm still really confused by this article. If the author would have made the argument that the pairwise rankings are flawed and SNC should have been seeded higher, I would understand his complaint (not that I would have agreed). But to argue against what is by all accounts the correct matchup at this...

Back in 2019, #4 SNC had to play on the road at #1 Stevens Point in the QF (the week after playing #8 Augsburg in the opening round). They had a reason to complain then. But there's absolutely nothing to complain about this year....

Right but the furthest distance between any 2 of those 5 is about 100 miles. They are tightly bunched between Milwaukee and Green Bay. Other than Stevens Point in the middle of the state, the WIAC schools are all 3-5 hours away from the NCHA schools. They'd be trading a 6 hour drive to Adrian once every...
