In the men's tournament there are hosts for all of the eight first and second round sites and then the regional finals. You're right, the hosting rules are the exact opposite of hockey - the host team cannot play in any venue where they're the host under any circumstances in both the opening two rounds...

Sub out Tampa for Nashville/Vegas as the "vacation" destination in the rotation. Both are significantly better places for it.

It's not the 1990s anymore. The ECAC winner this year does not deserve a #1 seed and a bye. If BU had lost in the HE tournament last year, the HE winner did not deserve a #1 seed and a bye.
Conference accomplishments should equate to nothing other than a potential automatic berth. Auto-byes...

I don't think Jay cares who they play, but what the coaches want or don't want in the moment has no bearing on what the overall rules should be since that'd change all the time.
A very quick and easy fix to this is giving the committee the ability to move teams between seed lines to avoid...

This was clarified somewhere - AIC would not get the auto-placement. They technically aren't the listed co-host, it's the Western MA Sports Commission.

But I 100% agree the host/seeding rules need to go, this is...

If you're rooting for UMass to win Friday, you basically have to also root for UMass to win Saturday.

I get it, but how could they theorize two freshmen co-POYs then have a *different* freshman of the year? At that point it's becoming a participation trophy. I agree, finding a distinction between Macklin and Cutter in their stats this regular season is almost impossible, so let's just make them both...

While that's correct, I believe this has only been used to create an first round conference matchup in extreme cases such as four teams from the same conference on two (1-4, 2-3) corresponding seed lines. We'll see how this plays out, but I'm not sure this would happen.
Not to mention,...

I don't see how Brown isn't the COY unless they really overvalue what Barr did at Maine this year, which would be ridiculous.
The POY race in HE is basically going to mirror the Hobey race. The Hat Trick, unless the voters do something really dumb, should be Macklin, Cutter, and one BC...

You're right, because of where his birthday falls, he could accelerate to play this year and still be eligible for this year's draft.
Jack's birthday was in late October and his parents started him in school early when he was a kid, so he arrived at age 17 but turned 18 shortly after. But...

I disagree here, UMass losing to Lowell would be a significant hit to their PWR. While unlikely they lose, it'd be better for us if they lost. Especially since they end with two at Alfond and then potentially a tough 4/5 QF, or a road game at Maine as the 6 seed. I'd rather them lose and drop out c...
