Kudos to Barr for landing them. Everyone talks about this as a forgone recruiting outcome when it still takes quite a bit of recruiting savvy to bring it to fruition. They played JR hockey in BC, I think they probably could have survived college a bit further away. Barr landed them. Period.

I want the program to go in a different direction. For two reasons...
First, IMO, the only reason this season is viewed as such a success or indication of progress is its relativity to the previous decade-ish of Mike Souza impact/leadership. This is the first time since he's been in Durham...Last edited by Dan; Yesterday, 12:25 PM.

I haven't watched any of them enough to truly know how they'd comp alongside former UNHers. So take these with a grain of salt...
However, I'd expect the MacPherson twins to be more offensively focused & gifted along the lines of an Andrew Poturalski; proven scorers, hungry to impact...

This season is a 'success' (at least to this point) based solely on its relativity to the other eight seasons Souza has spent in Durham. Its timing is only important for those who with an immediacy...

I'm still far from certain I buy into UNH this season, let alone long term - but a 22% chance to finish fourth definitely perks my interest. Ending up in 4th-place likely means jumping PC, which would ultimately list top-four teams in Hockey East as BC, BU, UMO & UNH, offering some glory day sentimentality...
