REF - If Sadowski is interested in coming to UNH, I'd rather have him here developing in lock-step with the young forwards on the roster and building for the future. I don't think its out of the realm of possibility that he's a very good FR next season; certainly he can be a bottom-six hardworking player...

Yes, this point escaped me in the moment and is likely the reason for the RMU portal entries. In other words - they were cut, meaning they're unlikely to change a new program's fortunes. The true underclass 'impact' will enter the portal on Easter Sunday or soon after. Apologies for my oversight and...Last edited by Dan; 03-26-2024, 06:28 PM.

Cafarelli is also officially in the portal.
I'd imagine both he and Gendron parted mutually with the staff. They want more playing time & opportunity, the staff wants/needs the money back for the incoming FR or portal additions of their own...Last edited by Dan; 03-26-2024, 06:27 PM.

The portal is open for undergrads from March 31 to May 14. The only non-graduate portal entrees as of now are players who's program is changing coaches - i.e. Stonehill, Lindenwood, Miami, etc. There are several Robert Morris undergrads in the portal - so either they're making a coaching change quietly,...

It is ironic that UNH is so intent on hosting men’s regionals and women’s frozen fours, yet so content enabling the implosion of their actual hockey programs (and those responsible). It’s never occurred to anyone that if it is this exciting to host high-level hockey events it might...

You make this sort of decision - with this sort of excitement - when your understanding of UNH Men's & Women's Hockey, Hilary Witt & Mike Souza, extends all the way back to the 2022-23 season and NO further. It makes you wonder if the AD has any idea of what hockey has accomplished at UNH, has...

Kudos to Barr for landing them. Everyone talks about this as a forgone recruiting outcome when it still takes quite a bit of recruiting savvy to bring it to fruition. They played JR hockey in BC, I think they probably could have survived college a bit further away. Barr landed them. Period.

I want the program to go in a different direction. For two reasons...
First, IMO, the only reason this season is viewed as such a success or indication of progress is its relativity to the previous decade-ish of Mike Souza impact/leadership. This is the first time since he's been in Durham...Last edited by Dan; 03-17-2024, 12:25 PM.

Food for thought.
Here's the kind of money that can be raised with NEW & EXCITING NCAA Tournament level play, as opposed to we finally snuck over .500 for the first time in a decade, which MAYBE means we FINALLY figured something out excitement...

I haven't watched any of them enough to truly know how they'd comp alongside former UNHers. So take these with a grain of salt...
However, I'd expect the MacPherson twins to be more offensively focused & gifted along the lines of an Andrew Poturalski; proven scorers, hungry to impact...

Im certain, based on past precedent, you're the only poster who would find it remarkable.
This season is a 'success' (at least to this point) based solely on its relativity to the other eight seasons Souza has spent in Durham. Its timing is only important for those who with an immediacy...
