Maybe this will be what breaks the camel's back on the neutral site system. Lots of big name programs that can't be happy.
Denver and BU are already mad about getting shipped away from home and likely end up playing "road" games against the host. Now you've got a regional leaving...

I think this is the second USA-Mexico game in a row where they’ve stopped the match late for the homophobic chants. I don’t watch many full matches of Mexico outside of this, but both USA matches they didn’t stop the game until stoppage time. Is it that the referees don’t acknowledge...

There had been a lot more parity the last few years in the tournament, so this seemed like an abrupt return to the norm. A couple 5 over 4s and a 7 seed Duke over 2 seed OSU gave a few “upsets” yesterday at least....

Missouri region gets Michigan State vs Western Michigan and North Dakota vs Michigan. 2,500 seats in St Louis for two games with those fan bases. They'd get at least 18,500 for those two separately at the higher seed's rinks.
At the very least there's an arena literally across the river...

The NCAA manages to get everyone to schools from Dallas to Buies Creek, NC for every sport minus men’s basketball to host tournament games. I’m sure they can find a way to get a hockey team to Orono in four days....

If you go by the the top 8 seeds hosting format, the capacities are:
BC - 7,800
BU - 6,300
Denver - 6,000
MSU - 6,500
Maine - 5,100
North Dakota - 11,600
Minnesota - 10,000
Wisconsin - 15,300
Almost all of those would be getting sellouts,...

Kim Mulkey with a very normal response to a WaPo story coming out soon.
Whatever it is, oughta be good if it's getting this type of response.

North Dakota's loss to Omaha drops their comparison against the Mavericks and means the Pairwise doesn't just come down to RPI ranking. They're already winning the comparison with MSU on RPI, so no matter the result tomorrow they can't jump back into the one seeds. And MSU can't jump Denver so seeds...

Their first couple tournaments I remember them getting labeled as Oakland (MI). I’m not sure there’s any school in California with Oakland in the name, so that’s probably why they dropped that....

A San Marino vs St Kitts and Nevis friendly is currently on live on FS2. This has to be one of the most random, inconsequential matches to ever air on tv in the US....

Best I can tell, Michigan State moves into a 1 seed slot with a win and Denver not winning the NCHC. There's one scenario where MSU and Denver tie going four decimal places back in the RPI, but MSU pulls it out with the hidden digits.

At least the final will be on ABC now. Now they just need to start broadcasting in 1080 instead of the 720....

Strong adherence to the 1891-1911 federal spelling of Pittsburgh here. I like it.
Pittsburgh now got Wilson and Fields for a cap hit of 5 million. Fields does have a club option next year for 25 million but highly doubt that gets picked up....

A pair of 2-1 Big Ten semi games sets up Michigan vs Michigan State at Munn next weekend. MSU-OSU had a goal taken away on each side following challenges. I don’t know what changed with OSU but they were a completely different team the last month of the year. Big Ten is going to clog up the 2-3...

On Monday Dan Monson was told he was being let go from Long Beach State after the season. He just lead them to the NCAA tournament.

12-17 Brown upsets 24-3 Princeton in the Ivy semis. A month ago Brown was 6-17.

The A10 isn't a one bid league most years, so I don't know if the step ladder format would be needed for them (though they normally only get 1 or 2, so maybe), but they had all upsets in the first round of their tournament. 5-8, 7-6 semifinals there.

The ASun and Big Sky tournaments have been fun for chaos, but really it just ends up reiterating the need for the smaller conferences to go to the WCC stepladder bracket. People make fun of it, but it both rewards teams for a good regular season and increases the conference's chance at winning a game...

MSU certainly hasn’t been disciplined but their averages will be inflated from the first game against Michigan where everyone on the ice got roughing and a misconduct after a scuffle following an MSU goal. So there were 10 penalties and 64 minutes for each team right there....
