I was hoping for one more decent defense man. Perhaps one with at least 2 years left to play....

When i was much younger i played both lacrosse and ice hockey. I decided to only play hockey and gave up lacrosse because I was only getting hurt playing hockey while I was getting KILLED playing lacrosse....

Agree with 1-9 totally. Your last statement has been my thought for the past 60+ years! Started with my first day at RPI and only gotten more obvious each year since! BTW could only check the score every so often today. We were at MSG watching an incredible Islanders-Rangers game. Although I despise...

Nice summary. With the portal open until some time in May - could be some changes of course. Would like to see 1 more defense added in some form. As of today we have 7 of our boys entered into the portal and we have picked up 4. Would think that leaves room for...

Although i would hate for it to happen, i am beginning to suspect that the portal may well become the major 'recruiting' tool used by many schools that are not in the yearly top 16 that make the tournament each year....

Some of us were skeptical of SAJ a lot earlier than that....

Sensible as usual. The flip side is that the team that allows the least goals is also usually the winner. Cornell has proven that for so many seasons in the ECAC. I think all of us here are on the same page and have mentioned all the things we need to see improve. Winning face offs would make a difference...

I maintain that if we can put a decent group of defensive players on the ice in front of him he will exceed his freshman form and be a top tier goaltender....

We met Neil off ice a few times in the old days when he was playing in Troy and later on in Philly when he played professionally. he was always a gentleman and generous with what little (pun intended) time he had!...

I have followed hockey for a long time but I think this might be the first time i have ever heard of a goalie described as a beast. Now if we can only add 2 or 3 defense men with that description, we might have something!...Last edited by DrDemento; 04-07-2024, 07:08 AM.

Totally agree. These days any young man wishing to progress up the ladder in hockey has to be thinking of what is the Bigger Better Deal. Perhaps the major recruiting problem we have because what do we offer a young player whose aspirations are not academic but merely hockey progression? Agents, advisors,...

I had not been suggesting any rule exists but perhaps some sort of gentleman's agreement within a conference? I noted during the games yesterday a couple of Cornell transfers making an impact for other teams and it set me wondering a bit....

You are just spot on!! After the great success of the mid 1980's we simply could no longer keep that level of play up. But for the next 15+ years, virtually every year was at least competitive with a chance to attend the ECAC final four. Some more so than others and the talent level that came in as...

Having watched all the NCAA games that were televised, I noticed that many of the players had been transfers to the schools from other schools that they previously played for. I also note4d that most of these were from other conferences and not from teams and schools within the same conference. is there...

I have temporarily given up - cannot log in and keep getting the site is busy message. Been watching Denver - UMass and find it unusual to see how many empty seats are seen. I can remember when it was difficult to get tickets to any quarterfinal game. How times have changed!...
