You have 60 days from the later of the date you're given the official notice or the date your coverage ends to elect to enroll in COBRA coverage
So in theory, if your new coverage starts May 1, you can wait to see what happens...

You have a grace period to elect cobra coverage, so if your new one kicks in during that period (and i forget how long it is), you can game the system a bit and wait to see if you need it before opting in. If you don't, you saved yourself a decent chunk of change....

If they use only information that they hear in open court or that is otherwise publicly available? Nope.
A specific juror might have a private cause of action for invasion of privacy or something like that depending on many factors, but courts can't put a gag order on private citizens watching...

You can prevent cameras and recording devices (hence courtroom sketch artists), but we have a constitutional right to public trials in this country, so no....

The usage charge on a TOU rate isn't going to be the killer - generally the per kWh charge during peak times is similar to current standard rates or only moderately higher - the off-peak usage charge is just heavily discounted because overnight load drops so low that marginal pricing can turn negative...

They'll never go to time of use or other demand-based rates for standard residential service unless and until electric cars become adopted by 80%+ of the population, and even then they may try to work around the car charging angle somehow. They may already offer a voluntary ToU rate for residential...

Yeah. Constitution says they hold their jobs for life. Doesn't say they can't be reassigned to different duties....

18-year terms, but yes. And then they become a circuit court justice thereafter so it doesn't violate the constitution....

My wife went to a Korean game when she was in Seoul a couple weeks back. Had a blast. They let you bring in outside food and drinks so everything was dirt cheap. Didn't realize Korea was the 3rd largest league after MLB and Japan, but they get 15,000 a game on average.

Sotomayor isn't RBG - having Type 1 diabetes that is well managed isn't the same as having cancer multiple times. She's also about 10 years younger, so it's not the same immediacy.
But since we know the GOP doesn't play fair (otherwise either Garland would be on the court or Barrett would...

Ever since they partnered with Turner for broadcasting a decade or so back, TBS and TNT have had turns carrying the Final Four.
I don't like it, but then I'm still wearing an onion on my belt, as was the style at the time....

If mortgage + expected repairs is cheaper than rent, then you'd still be better off buying even if you're house poor, all else being equal. But if course there's plenty of other factors like whether you expect to move, whether you can afford the expected repairs, etc.
And I'm still of the...

It varies. When I was a state employee I only took work home when absolutely necessary - prep for a hearing coming up, finishing an order needing to be issued by a statutory deadline, etc. Otherwise I was out the door at 4:30 and wouldn't do work until 8 am the next workday.
Now that I'm...

As happens in pretty much every red state with a ballot initiative/referendum. About 80% of the time the GOP wins the elections while the voters pick the "liberal" position on the referendum....

Crazy to think their only loss this calendar year was the 19-point smackdown at Creighton. Would've liked to have seen a rubber match between them, but alas it was not to be....

Penzey's had a "Republicans hate Black people" sale for MLK Day a few years back. Think every order came with a bunch of Black Lives Matter stickers and they donated a percentage of sales to the NAACP.
Their spices and herbs are legit awesome, though. We never buy cinnamon anywhere...

Because people pay a premium for opening day, so if there's a rainout they can reschedule the next day and the same people can attend.
Which, as Ive said before, is another reason it's stupid to have opening day on a Thursday and then take a Friday off. The traditional Monday worked because...
