You cherry picked that. It's ok not to have a draft pick again, so long as the program is successful. There is a 20 year history of Minnesota and Michigan not winning the hardware with a who's who's of top NHL draft picks. Though it's not stated in the post, my guess is it is about Stramel. We'll see if things change for him at MSU. I can only guess, but my hunch is that most of the problem with Charlie's development lies with Charlie. You can blame 2 coaches, but if nothing happens for him at State, is yet another coach...

I don't know what Scholl's ceiling is, but when things were breaking down as the season ended he seemed to be giving everything he had. Hopefully he can develop into a solid contributor to the 3rd or 4th line at a minimum.

Honestly, I was a little disappointed (and completely baffled) with Hastings based on his inability to right the ship down the stretch. It did put a little doubt in my mind about him. Little did I know that in all likelihood these guys had half a step out the door and began half-assing it. I don't know...

I have no idea why they didn't leave last year. Perhaps because they saw their new coach's track record but didn't understand all that that success demands. When they found out, they decided to move on. Plausible, but only they know the truth.

Maybe, just maybe he recruited to that way at Mankato because he couldn't compete head to head with the big boys for the big time talent so he got the best talent he could. There's a poster in this forum who knows what Hastings is doing wrong (albeit after one year with 26 wins, an NCAA berth, and apparently with a few guys who were checking out in the last part of the season), so maybe he has the strategy to turn it around and could take over the reigns....

I don't care if we ever have an NHL draft choice again as long as we're back in the championship picture. Denver has won a few lately and BC might break the trend, but a lot of these superstar teams haven't taken home the hardware in quite awhile. Minnesota and Michigan load up with top draft picks...

I have concerns that our confidence level deteriorated down the stretch due to remnants of the past culture. When things got tougher down the stretch, doubt from the past seemed to creep back in and I swear this was the 22-23 team was back on the ice. Hastings needs time to bring in his players and...

I'd like to hear some theories on our inability to move the puck out of our own zone, and to possess the puck in the offensive zone. Down the stretch teams just came right at whoever had the puck and we just couldn't seem to make two consecutive passes connect. This wasn't the case in the first half....
