Oh oh, we might have made a tactical blunder here.

It would have to be big enough to show up on an EEG.

That is the correct answer. Team Goldy submitted the following wager ...

"Chuck, we'll bet the farm."

Assuming that "the farm" means the same out there that it does up here, that doubles Team Goldy's score to 140 pts.!! http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif

Next up - Team Bucky ...

I can hear the music...ONE MOMENT IN TIME, WHEN I AM MORE THAN I COULD BE...

Sorry, DJ Hand from FM WCHA wanted me to play that real quick http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/wink.gif

This was a blast guys...and todays action has helped me through a rough day!! Same time next year???

Can I be an honrary coach of The winning team, just for the fun of it...I promise not to whine at all and only makefunny quotes from "the good book" http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif

I don't think Woog played in the NHL.

We'll skip the rest.

Next up - Team Bucky and Her Royal Badgerness, jen ...

"The answer is my mom's favorite hockey player, Dean Talafous.

Duluth native, Wisconsin alum, hero of the 1973 NCAA championship, assistant coach at Minnesota, head coach at UAA and head coach of NCAA title teams at UW-River Falls, as well as 104-goal scorer in the NHL."

That is the correct answer in unerring detail to boot. Team Bucky has now won, and it's just a matter now of how much:

"Team Bucky wagers 320."

Not quite what the Goldy prognosticators had suspected, but pretty darned close. Bucky finishes up with 790 pts. and wins the inaugural WCHA Jeopardy title!!!

Congratulations to Team Bucky, which now moves on to the College Hockey Jeopardy finals, where they will face Team Merrimack and the winner of the future CCHA Jeopardy face-off. Excellent team effort, folks!! http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif

And a hearty "job well done" to Team Goldy for an excellent effort! There were a lot of close calls out there, and but for a few nanoseconds here and there, you never know what might have happened. Remains to be seen whether PJ is welcomed back into the Goldy fold down the line ... http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/confused.gif http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/wink.gif

WooooooHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Time now to take down the other evil empires from Merrimack and the CCHA.

Thanks to everyone for making the past week fly by at work, especially Chuck for all his hard work on this.

To the Minn people, is Hastings near Duluth?

First of all, I'd like to thank Chuck Murray for his unending patience and perserverence with this daunting task. Not even a WCHA native could have come up with something like that Chuck, and for that we sincerely thank you. It has been a blast.

Secondly, I'd like to thank Handy for allowing me on the team. It's been great, just wish we could've brought some glory home.

Thirdly, I'd like to thank SCSU for not showing up.

Last, I'd like to thank and congratulate the Red Scourge. Your squad was on fire. You Royal Badgerness, you have brilliantly guided your team to a resounding victory. That daily double was a real motivator for the scourge.

PJ, you sellout. Next year, you have to transfer back. You and me boy!!!!

Great job team!

You too, Rodents, even though you ended up in your usual place after it was all over - behind the Cardinal and White. http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/wink.gif Should you steal PJ away from us next season, we'll just find another ringer from Minnesota...

And SCSU... oh, SCSU... at least you answered. http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif

We were at least 20 times more interesting than the Hockey East Jeopardy thread.

Thanks Chuck!!

My boss also thanks all of you for making me show up at work before 9 am for five consecutive days because it was too much fun to pass up. http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif

Listen folks ... I just wanna tell you all a big THANK YOU for volunteering to play, and for letting an Easterner like me intrude on you folks in one way or another for the better part of the last month. You have all made me feel extremely welcome, and I hope you enjoyed playing the game half as much as I enjoyed running this. http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif

I was very concerned about the level of questions on the game board, as I'm sure you folks could have stepped in and come up with better, more challenging stuff than this. My concern was to try to make it a playable/enjoyable game, and to have answers that were verifiable somewhere. Hopefully the balancing act worked out fairly to all.

My only truly major disappointment is that I really couldn't put together a category of board-related questions, like the "Fables, Fairy Tales & Flamewars!!!" category that has now become a HE Jeopardy fixture. I did get some outside input on this, but I guess you folks don't get into the same ******ing contests we enjoy so much back East. http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif

It was a lot of fun to get to know so many of you folks better than before, and to get to learn a lot of stuff about the history of the WCHA was an added benefit for me too! http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif

Many thanks to WIS apprentices Handyman and Drop The Puck for getting this off the ground - couldn't have done it without you!

And special thanks again to JimW for his attention to the question board!! http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/biggrin.gif

Next year - same time, same place ...
