Correct answer: Midwest Collegiate Hockey League. Team Goldy takes 20 pts. at the end of the day, leaving us at ...
Bucky 420
Goldy 70
SCSU -50
----------------------
Recap for the day - Bucky gains 20 pts. while Goldy drops 20 pts. Unfortunately SCSU drops 50 points, and is probably out of the Final Jeopardy round too ... http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/frown.gif
Monday
Only three (3) questions to go, folks. We can start at 9:00 a.m. Central time and do a question every hour, finishing up at 11:00 your time, noon my time.
Then we can work through the Final Jeopardy wagers. I think with only 50 pts. left on the board, Team SCSU can't do better than zero, so it should just be Bucky and Goldy for the FJ round.
Remember that the wagers and FJ answers go to me via e-mail, and not on the game thread. More on this Monday - have a nice weekend folks!!! http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif

Well, being as regionalistic as Gopher fans are, we look up to the rafters of Mariucci, and we see the WIHL banners, and I believe there is a MCHL banner.
CC won the first MCHL title (1951-1952), the Gophers won the second (1952-1953) and the first as the WIHL (1953-1954).

Well, it looks like a bad day for the good guys, however, in the words of the great Jon Bon Jovi "You gotta keep the faith!"
SO, we'll finish out Keeping the Faith for 20.

Oh yeah - a special thanks to jen for being the substitute for JimW on the question board!! http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif
I don't know if any of you saw the beginning of the HE Jeopardy thread, or the first HE Jeopardy we tried on the old board a couple of years ago, but having that board graphic up on the thread itself is a real godsend, especially for yours truly.
JimW for Hobey!!! http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/biggrin.gif

One last thought before i leave.
Jim and Chuck, our wonderful hosts, have done a great job of putting this together.
The one thing out of their control is modem speeds, connections, etc..
There is still one place on God's green earth that connections don't matter.....
FINAL JEOPARDY!
GO FOR IT BUCKY!
Bet the farm.
No guts, no glory.
Bwaaack buk buk bwaack.
Be somebody.
Winner take all.
B1: we're lucky the Gophers didn't overtake us!!
Nathan: I am NOT clicking on that!! http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif And we will not pull a Claven... but I can guarantee no college hockey players have ever been in my kitchen, so that might be our answer too. http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif
GS: We could bet the farm and still beat Team Goldy. http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/wink.gif (I bet you're sitting back waiting for us to bet the farm, so you can win if you bet everything minus one.)

Oh jen, I guarantee that we will bet it all. None of this leaving one point crap. It's all or nothing baby!!!!
Hey, if we do lose, you guys only have 4 players for the next round.

I found a cure:
Sing the Ole Ole Ole Ole song while listening to something else (in my case a classic rock station) - the combination works - atleast for now. I'm going to do my best not to drift off on the subway for fear Victors might come back.
Thank you all for your suggestions and good luck on Monday.

I can see it now, someone won't be able to submit their Final Jeopardy answer because the thread reached the 1000-post maximum.
Nathan
06-08-2001, 05:35 PM
There's a 1000 post maximum? Wow. THat sucks. However, this has been the most active thread I've ever seen.
We flatlanders rule! Look how many posts we have compared to the HE Jeopardy one. Too much animosity there.

Ralph: LOL! I hope they'd at least put us in the Hall of Fame. http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif I hadn't noticed we had 808 replies..
Nathan: Yes, but you HAVE to bet it all. We don't. http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif
Are we allowed roster revisions before the big tournament, Chuck? Probably not, huh...

jen, if there is a thread worthy of USCHOHOF status, it's this one. 800+ posts, and not one time did we have a flame war, we have had deep insight into the history of Western college hockey, there has been a great display of teamwork, we have had good displays of board techniques and application, as well as (GASP!) a Gopher fan working with Badgers.

Nah - I don't think that would be a good idea. The folks who've been involved since Day One should be rewarded. There's always next year for roster revisions, and if Team Bucky holds on, there are advantages other than a spot in the CH Jeopardy Finals ...
... ask Team BU for further details. http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif

What? So I can't sign on as a free agent to Team Bucky for the final round? I was offering to sell my services.
