Giving Team BU a "grace period" just in case they're still working on this. Waiting 'til 10:30 a.m. at which time I'll close this out.

Okey-dokey ... time's up!!
Team BU didn't get back to me with an answer so their answer is officially wrong.
((( ... I hope Schweppie is in a better mood than he was last Friday ... http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/eek.gif http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/wink.gif )))
Gotta give me a few minutes to work through all the cut-and-paste stuff, folks! http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif

"Subject: final wager
Team BU will be wagering 99.
Thanks Chuck"
Team BU's wager, combined with their wrong answer, brings them down to one (1) point.

I'm just hoping Mike bet it all, and answered Gravelle http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif

Next we will go to Team UNH, which is in second with 150 pts. Their answer, provided by NCAA Watcher:
"Subject: If Gibs not around
I sent this to Gib, the captain, but he may not be around. **The anser from UNH is Craig Darby, Montreal."
That is the correct answer.

Team UNH's wager came from Gibber over the weekend, and here it is:
"Subject: RE: Test
Chuck we're gonna bet it all."
That's 150 pts. for Team UNH's correct answer, which brings them up to 300 pts. which still puts them in second place until we hear from Team Gra- ... oops, Team MC. http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/wink.gif

And finally, it's time for Team Merrimack's Final Jeopardy answer, from MikeM:
"Subject: Re: Final Jeopardy
here you go Chuck...
Who is Craig Darby"
Another correct answer from the winning team! I'll post the wager in a sec ...

you know the sickest thing of them all....
I actually have seen Darby play... I went with some buddies of mine to see albany academy play in 1990.. It was one of the presents his parents got him.. to let him take some friends to see some hockey.
THat is almost asbad as machnik blowing a Merrimack question.. a 18 year native Albany resident blowing a question on Albany Academy
AIIIIIGH!!!!!!!!!!!

also.... not that i would have gotten it anyway, becasue i drew the ultimate blank,
but he only played with two other different teams other than the Canadiens... The islanders (94-96) and the Flyers (96-98)
before returning to the canadiens... unless my memory has gone completely off, and there was another team mixed in there..

And here's the Team MC final wager ...
"Subject: Re:
Thanks Chuck...the official decision is to bet 109 points so if we got it wrong we would still end up with 301 which is more than either of the other two teams could get. We are not going to pull a Cliff
Claven and bet it all when we are guaranteed of winning. :-)"
That leaves us with a final score of:
MC 519
UNH 300
BU 1
Team Merrimack moves into the Finals of College Hockey Jeopardy to face off against the winners of the upcoming WCHA and (hopefully) CCHA games.
Congratulations to Team Merrimack on a job well done, to Team UNH and Team BU for games well played, and a special thanks to all the captains for the extra work in lining up all of your players!! http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif
Special thanks goes out to Dave Arcangelo, Deep Blue, Walrus and Jon Hartwell for their much-appreciated assistance with questions for the game board. Thanks a bunch, guys!! http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif

Schwep - per www.hockeydb.com, (http://www.hockeydb.com,) at the NHL level he went NYI - Montreal - NYI - Philadelphia - Montreal
Darby was also a Predator for one year, but didn't actually suit up for Nashville - spent the entire season in Milwaukee.
One of the few times I've ever been wrong http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/wink.gif - I said Darby wouldn't make it back to the NHL because he wasn't strong enough in the corners and on the puck and was unwilling to use his body. Whoops. http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif
