To add to my last post...we should know soon because I heard that for this tournament, UAF and UAA have to share a dogsled to get there. It could take a while, so they need to know where they're going.

GoBruno- Normally, I'd argue with you, but I have to give you props for sticking up for this team. http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/biggrin.gif

Good luck in the REAL tournament. http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif

PS. Next year could you please ask Coach Grillo not to give Wisconsin tips on how to beat PC in NCAA's? http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/frown.gif Quite disconcerting...

The Site Selection Committee wishes to announce that the Futile Four will be held in Schenectady, as previously announced. Bottom Ten officials have negotiated with the Schenectady City Center representatives to address the concerns regarding the arena there. Namely, that the existing ice making equipment will be used to lay a sheet of ice over the existing turf.

The Committee does wish to thank everyone for the many excellent sites which were suggested, particularly the State Fair site in Syracuse. This site will certainly be a strong candidate next time the Futile Four heads east. The Committee would also note that a number of possible arenas were ruled out because they were the home ice of teams that are competing in the final four.

Additionally, the seeding committee has nearly finished its job and will announce the seedings and regional matchups either later tonight or tomorrow.

i was thinking of North South centrality I guess. ;-)
but the town is still not what it used to be.
I have been cleared to go and will staying in Scotia with a friend. Also gonna visit some other people near. The fairgrounds are a good site too. ;-)
If we really want a great site why not put the rink on frozen Oneida lake, is it not one of the most poluted lakes in the country? Or how about the Arthur Kill (sp?)? get back to college hockey's roots of playing on a frozen pond.

With 16 teams, aren't we gonna start needing regional sites as well?

On behalf of all those big 5 conference teams denied a bid into the tournament, i would like to challenge the bid awarded to the Bemidji State U Beavers on the grounds they won their conference and therefore the associated AUTOBID. There is no doubt that their season record warrants an opportunity to slide the slippery slope to Schenectady, but a CHA team with an AUTOBID?? Only in due time, even for the Futile Four.

Go CHA

Regionals are hosted by the top two seeded teams in the east and west, which this year are Bentley and Brown in the east and Bemidji State and Minnesota-Duluth.

As for the CHA autobid, the Bottom Ten Rules Committee feels that the CHA deserves an autobid even though it is a relatively new conference. Particularly with a 16 team tournament (instead of 12, as in that other tournament!) the Committee felt that a CHA autobid would not seriously disadvantage worthy teams in the other conferences.

I heard a report today that Fairbanks has 20 teams of dogsleds ready to make their trip to the East...we're expecting a rematch with Bentley. The Bentley folks are still angry about the alleged net cutting incident in Fairbanks. (I still say there was no evidence, so there was no incident...so what if I threw the scissors in Yukon river? http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif )
