JohnN,

Yes, I have my tickets. UAH has friends in Omaha, so as soon as I saw the pairings I called and they secured 3 tickets for me. 3, Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I also have tickets for the final. It's the second round I don't know about. I may need help for them, or maybe not. We'll see which Charger team shows up. The one that played Western Mich and BGSU or the one that played UMass-Lowell and Canisius!

Using my racing connections, I have talked Hooters into supplying the Cheerleaders for each venue! And they claim to have some real ice skaters, and you know what good tushy's ice skaters have!!! Don't all of you thank me at once.

I'd like to recommend the world famous "BS Food Services LTD" as the Official Food Service Company of the NIT. I think the exposure would be good for them, not to mention it could lower the legal expenses of the NIT. I've heard their "Fried Baloney Sandwiches" are "to die for".

Later...

Thank you, Douglas, for the cheerleaders. Just don't recruit them from the local Omaha Hooters....

OK, None from Omaha. I know from personal inspection that the ones from Knoxville, Myrtle Beach, Daytona, Nashville, and Orlando are simply par excellance! I'll request them, though the headquarters has very good taste!

Douglas,

It's been a while, but the girls from the Charlotte, NC franchise could hold there own with anyone - at least as of the last time I was there http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif

Okay - My bad...you're right.
It seems Fox Sports Ohio really is two seperate entities.
That way, they can air a Cavaliers game down here when nothing beter is on...(for example, Miami NIT hockey) and not have to hear as many complaints "Why are they airing a Cavs game??" Because it's Fox Sports OHIO...not Cincy.
We get more Reds games down here and they get the Indians up there...and then we both get the same Fox Sports Regional Ohio Report after our respective games.

Anyway, looking forward to the rematch....not sure on this...but of all the NIT pairings I think is the only rematch of a regular season encounter.

You're right Rich, I forgot. We can put Charlotte's gang in there too.

I forgot, who was it that ran off with the cheerleaders last year? I think I have a line that will work this year, tell me what you think?

"Hi, I'm filthy rich and I want to buy you a house."

Hey RPIRED, are you saying you don't want to come see me sing? Well, I have plenty of other fans.

Can the Shegos brothers be the ref and replay ref of record whenever UNO plays. That would make it REALLY interesting.

Douglas I was going to use that line on the cheerleaders this year. Drat now I have to promise them their own island just to compete. I missed getting tickets for UAH-Omaha but I am hoping to make the finals this year. Who is going to be doing the webcasts so I won't miss a second of the action?

Any word on next year's site of the NIT finals? I like the idea of Lake Placid becoming the permanent home of the finals (much like Madison Square Garden in hoops), although that would keep it from coming up here to Duluth. I heard UMD was trying to lure it to the DECC for next year (although DECC officials are afraid they may lose the Annual Home Show if they bring up here).

I have one ticket for the final in Lake Placid up for sale that I bought before I heard that Britney Spears was doing the national anthem!

Due to some committments I have, the games today will start early. The Miami at New Hampshire game will start at 4:00 Eastern time and the Northern Michigan at Denver game will start at 2:30 Mountain time.

They will be "broadcast" on a new thread The College Hockey NIT--The First Round (http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/Forum2/HTML/008350.html)

Anchor,

The NIT committee has always resisted a permanent site for the final. The idea is to spread the game around the country to great college hockey arenas. Last years final was at the Broadmore World Arena in Colorado Springs. Future sites could include Alfond Arena out in Orono, Maine, the new Englestad Arena in Grand Forks, North Dakota and perhaps even the DECC in Duluth. A new on campus arena in Duluth would certainly host a title game!
