Scarlet -

I can completely sympathize with you about tax time anxiety - this is the first year I haven't had any. I switched to a new accountant and found out that the old one was absolutely royally screwing me out of deducting a percentage of the money I pay through my business for health insurance. I wish I would have paid more attention to reading the forms instead of just taking her at her word; I only decided to switch after she became a complete ***** last year. Now, I could just choke the living crap outta her - too bad for her we live in such a small town http://www.uscho.com/board/ubb/smile.gif...I also used to do my own taxes until I had to file the Schedule C. I do know that if you work for someone else they contribute approx. 7% of your Social Security and you pay the other 7% from your paycheck - when you file the schedule C, you pay all 14% - Good Luck!!

The Boston Globe must have a Guru on their staff!!!!

I feel like I am at a party and don't know the inside joke. Someone tell me what Calling All Jen's is about. How did it start?

In the beginning, when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless wasteland, and darkness covered the abyss, while a mighty wind swept over the waters. Then God said, "Let there be a Princess," and there was a Princess. God saw how good the Princess was. God then separated the Princess from those in darkness. God called the Princess "Jen," and those in darkness He called "everybody else." Thus evening came, and morning followed--the first day.

Then Jen took over and said, "Let there be boards surrounding the middle of the waters, to separate the people on the middle of the waters from the people outside the waters." And so it happened: Jen made the boards, and they separated the people on the water from the people around it. Jen called the boards "the rink." Evening came, and morning followed--the second day.

Then Jen said, "Let the water inside the boards be gathered into a single sheet of ice, so that the game may appear." And so it happened: the water inside the boards was frozen, and the game appeared. Jen called the game “Hockey” and the people inside the boards she called “the players.” Jen saw how good it was. Then Jen said, "Let the players wear uniforms; every color of uniform from maroon to white, to red, to blue, to green, to black; with every letter and creature and being on the uniform; the Eagle and the Bear; the Wolverine and the Badger, the Spartan and the Sioux, even the dreaded red letters B-O-S-T-O-N on the white uniform.” And so it happened; the players wore their uniforms of all colors with all creatures and beings and letters upon them. Then Jen said, “Let the people on the outside of the boards be called fans, and let them not wear the uniform of the player, for they are not truly players, but let them cheer loudly for their players, and take great joy in their exploits, and feel sorrow in their pain.” And so it happened; the people on the outside of the rink were called fans and came to the rink to see the game when it appeared, and to cheer for their players, and to pay homage to Jen, The Hockey Princess. Jen saw how good it was. Evening came, and morning followed--the third day.

Then Jen said: "Let there be lights in the dome above the rink, to separate game time from the other time. Let them mark the fixed times, the game times, and the penalty times, and serve as score counters for the game." And so it happened: Jen made the great lights, the greater ones to govern the score, and the lesser ones to govern the times. Jen set them in the dome of the rink, to shed light upon the fans and to govern the game. Jen saw how good it was. Evening came, and morning followed--the fourth day.

Then Jen said, "Let the computers teem with an abundance of living creatures, and on the board of the USCHO let them gather, to proclaim the greatness of the game, and of the players, and of life itself." And so it happened: Jen created the Thread, and called for others named Jen to proclaim the greatness of the game, and of the players, and of life. Jen saw how good it was, and Jen blessed them, saying, "Be joyful, and proclaim the greatness of the game, and by the way, drink long and artfully, and be skilled in all manners of pleasure." Evening came, and morning followed--the fifth day.

Then The Hockey Princess Jen said: "Let us make Team Jen in our image, after our likeness. Let them have dominion over the top of the board; over the topics of great replies, over the fun of life.” The Jen’s then created Team in their own image; in the divine image they created them; male and female they created them. THP Jen blessed them, saying: "Be fertile and multiply; fill the board and subdue it. Have dominion over the top of the board; over the topics of great replies; over all fun of life." And so it happened. THP Jen looked at everything she had made, and she found it very good. Evening came, and morning followed--the sixth day.
