I think we'd better make sure all of the players are aware the board is back up before we even try starting this back up.
TAJen - what about an e-mail notification to all the players??

How about we start up again on Monday?
Be sure to tell Team SLU.

I agree with Chuck. An email should go out to all players.

I'd be hesitant to get this re-started until at least next Tuesday, maybe even Wednesday. My guess is that some folks are bound to be away at least through the weekend, if not on vacation, so a little caution this time may be the best approach. JMHO ...

I say we start on Monday. That should be plenty of time to make sure verybody's back on the board and aware of the start time. Captains (Spaceman's here, and I know Annette and billmich have been on), could you please e-mail your players and make sure they can get to the board and are around next week? Post here and let us know.
And speaking of time, how do you guys want to do it? Have we all changed our User CP options to Eastern time? Will that make things easier as far as the times of the questions? Feedback please (-:

TAJen - I agree that it makes a lot of sense to give plenty of notice to all the parties involved in the game.
We've already seen the bad side of what can happen otherwise so at least we can say we've learned from our mistakes. :(
I think the time-setting idea is a good one, but I can't wait 'til we get the first "Daylight Savings"-styled complaint about someone being early/late for an appointment 'cuz their USCHO clock was set on some other time zone ... ;)

C'mon you guys---you've got to talk to me here...

I e-mailed the team and told them to keep an eye out for news in this thread.
What else am I supposed to say?

Annette:
I just meant to let me know here that you'd done that. Last time I assumed people were reading, and it caused problems. This time I'd like confirmation so there's no confusion.
Also, can people confirm about the time please? I really don't mean to nag, but as I said, making executive decisions last time got me in trouble.
billmich:
I think you've got a little time before football (-: How about your partner Screw_Michigan? He's been around; can he take over for you? Screw?

I can be ready to go starting Tuesday. The boss is out of town for the next 2 weeks, so the timing is perfect (at least for me) to finish up the game. Captains, please post here to let me know if A) you have contacted your teams and they are available to play (Annette, I know you've done this for Team BK) and B)if everybody has switched the time to EST for playing the game. If I hear from everyone (I've e-mailed Screw_Michigan to see if he'll cover for billmich), I'll post question times for Tuesday through the rest of the week on Monday.

Most everyone is back on the board.
Team BK,
The game will be played using Eastern Standard time. Please set your board clock accordingly.
I do like the time change function on the new board. Central time always made it seem Ok to stay on the board a bit longer. I can't get to work on time as is...

Sure, I'll play. I apologize for the no show last session, I had picked up a job and was busy for more than I wanted. But now I have lots of free time before school, so let me know what time(s) we are going to be looking at.
-------
It may be fate for the Cubbies to win the Central, but 'Stros fans don't forget one thing: THEY ARE STILL THE CUBS.

I have returned from a lengthy vacation, if you call chaperoning band camp a vacation. I have to catch up at work and will be out most of the week. Will try to particpate if I can.

Sorry to be so late getting back to you guys---technical difficulties fixing a printer problem on my computer.
Good to see Screw's going to play :) and Team BK is on board (streaker, the game will go into next week, so come back when you can)---just waiting on Team SLU. For the record, I did e-mail Spaceman on Friday and ask him to read and respond to this thread. I'll re-email him and the rest of Team SLU tonight and hopefully someone will check in. Because of this, we'll need to push back the start date until Wednesday.
Just for fun *NO POINTS AND DOES NOT COUNT IN GAME FOR ANY PURPOSE* I'll toss out the original Final Jeopardy Question that Eric and I were dearly attached to (Chuck thought it was "a corker" too). We had to replace it because one of our sources 'dried up' (the info is no longer on a confirming website). But it's still pretty cool (I think). No fair for anyone who was at Gallagher's after the Alumni game and heard it then (one person actually even it knew it right off---scary (-: ) Okay, here goes for fun:
Which current CCHA official has participated on the board of both the Ann Arbor and Columbus Art Fairs?
Getting ready to resume play, here's the game board as it currently stands.

(argh ... post #1000, and all it is is a lowly jeopardy board. I was hoping for something insightful ... oh well, now I have a goal for #2000)

Not sure if this is accurate, but this was the last score I could find (dates back just over a month!) ...
Team Screwbill - 50 pts
Team BK - 30 pts
Team SLU - (-90) pts
Last question was Between the Pipes for 10 pts. which did not generate an answer from what I can see.
Which team is in control of selecting the next question?
Annette_UM
08-13-2001, 11:13 PM
Team BK has control of the board.
The last question asked was "between the pipes" for 10 pts.
No one answered.
However, I had asked for Three blind mice for 40 pts previously and was not given that question.
(See post on page 2 07-12-2001 06:55 PM)
So, for the next question please give us Three Blind Mice for 40 points.

Thanks Annette!! Therefore the proper score is as follows:
Team Screwbill - 50 pts
Team BK - 30 pts
Team SLU - (-90) pts
Not to jump too far ahead - but please see my other new thread in this forum regarding preparations for the FINALS!!!
Good luck to all of the CCHA Jeopardy players, and may the best team emerge victorious!! :):):)
when is the first question?
