Trep has piled up a bunch of awards over her career, but this may be the best yet - the post graduate scholarship!!!

My hat's off to her and any D-I athlete that can compete at that level and still maintain such a high GPA. I couldn't maintain that GPA while in college and didn't compete in ANY sport! What an incredible effort and honor.

Forgive my shamelessness, Bulldog fans, I am clearing out my media guides as part of my moving process, and have a few UMD women's hockey guide from this past couple of seasons available cheap. If you're interested, click on the link below. They'll be up there until tonight. Thanks!

Geretsmed must really be Geretsried. Someone didn't read someone else's handwriting correctly.
I expected Andrea Lanzl sooner, since her sister was still in Duluth in school I figured she'd be here at least a year ago.. also nice to have a goaltender finally announced with Steck the only rostered goaltender. They'll probably get a walk-on for the third spot as you really need that third for an emergency as UMD found out a few years ago when they only dressed ONE in a game and got penalized for it.

The six that are centralizing for one year will be returning to our team the fall of 2010.
It must be extremely nice to be able to say this with complete confidence.

I saw a headline stating that the "Duluth Foreign Legion" extended Miller's contract, which I found ambiguous. :D
Just kidding -- as a Wisconsin fan, there is no women's hockey program that I fear more than UMD.

Ms. Hakala (Cloquet native) played for UMD I believe two years ago . . . then went to UWS . . .
Also, absent from the posted roster: Andrea Lanzl. Not sure what that means at this stage of the game.

A very nice porflie of Haley Irwin in the middle of this article:

Yep, Kirsti played for UWS in 07-08 and I didn't play anywhere last year, far as I know, which would give her this year to play as a Senior... haven't heard the reason for coming back to UMD but I'm going to imagine it's for the education as she's always been a top scholar in science fields. The players leaving for the Olympics gives her a perfect chance to play a final season of college hockey as well.
Emmanuelle Blais not being on the Canadian roster for the Canada Cup tourney that's finishing tonight is big for UMD really.. she's been the fastest playing on the ice for 3 seasons so far and if that roster is their full Olympic roster she'll be here all season.
October 2nd is coming fast, when we get the first look at this roster and all of it's freshmen, against Robert Morris.
... I'm going to imagine it's for the education as she's always been a top scholar in science fields. If so, that makes her initial transfer to Superior rather curious.

I'm assuming she's already finished four years of college and back for masters study but just speculating that until actually finding out more.
Season tickets showed up today :D Bring on Robert Morris
