Which player of the final three do you think is most deserving of the 12th annual Patty Kazmaier Award?

You forgot none of the three.

Once again the voters make a mockery of this award....

WHAT A JOKE!

Vetter. Do note the actual voting was decided before this weekend's results, though I'm not sure it has changed anyone's opinion.

One bit of trivia -- how many times has a team with a Kaz winning forward been shut out in the same season? I count 3, St. Cloud shutting out Wisconsin (Bauer) in 2006, and Niagara shutting out Northeastern (Whitney) twice in 2002. I bring that up because Harvard was shut out four times this year.

But it seems like this is Vetter vs. Agosta anyway among board members. I think those two weekends against Minnesota and UMD in late October really solidified Vetter as the frontrunner. But Vetter wasn't as strong in the second half while Agosta was tearing up CHA competition. We shall see.

Vetter, but I speak with someone who knows hockey much better than me that insists it will be Vaillancourt.

Who do you think should be in the final three?

Vetter, Schaus, and either MLam or Knight.

And the lifetime achievement award goes to....

Vetter.

Vetter and Schaus have been the top two goaltenders in the country this year.

Vetter - 12 SO, 48GA, 704 Saves in 2162:16, .936 SV
Schaus - 10 SO, 53GA, 833 Saves in 1969:45, .940 SV

MLam and Knight both have slightly fewer points than Agosta, but both play in WCHA, which is much stronger than CHA (as is HEA)

Vetter i agree with. And between these three, should win. The other 2 choices, your right, a joke.

I would have Johnston on there instead of Agosta........

I completely agree with those who think Agosta and Sarah V. don't belong there. I like with Vell's picks.

To play devil's advocate, Agosta is the national points leader, and it's not her fault the other CHA team's suck. But I think Vetter will/should get this.

Vetter by far....not to talk bad about M.A or S.V, but Vetter has been the backbone and mainstay of a very good team......

Go vetter.....

Although my first choice was Gigi Marvin.....:)

Vetter.....the ONLY defensive player in the mix. Time to recognize the importance of these players. Patty Kaz would be proud! But, SV and MA are amazing players....no disrespect at all!

I wasn't sure if Sarah V would make the top three and certainly, it was a pleasant surprise given the quality of players that were nominated. But some of the vitriol directed her way is misplaced at best and foolish at worst. Sarah is a player other teams must game plan for each and every game. She draws the kind of attention that I am sure Agosta sees as well. Players of that caliber deserve to be given serious consideration for this award.

We all have our favorite players and schools we support. It's only natural to be upset in situations like this. But to disrespect a player like Sarah is mean spirited and does not show much in the way of hockey intelligence. Numbers are only one measurement of a player's greatness and Sarah demonstrates her greatness in so many ways both for Harvard and on an international stage.

BTW, if you were to ask Sarah, I'm sure she would trade her top three nomination for an ECAC tournament title and a shot at either Wisconsin or Minnesota.

As I said in the earlier thread about this, the V's. With of course Vetter getting the Kaz. I don't see the award going to someone on a team not in the NCAA tourney (not taking anything away from Sarah's skill or abilities though).

Where's the vitriol and disrespect? I said she has not had a Kaz worthy season. That is the case. She's getting the nod because she won last year, because of her rep, and because she had a strong finish, but other players were better all year. My vitriol is towards the voters for their choice, not towards the player! Vallaincourt is certainly one of the best hockey players in the NCAA, or even internationally, but she should not be a top 3 choice.
