You must have a daughter on the team. Why else would anyone have the link or are you trying to promote QU?

You would think that if people did not think a team is worth talking about they would not respond.

What do you think it is going to take to make the Bobcats more competitive? It looks like they have a great facility, beautiful campus and a great location (close to Boston and New York). It looks like it would be a great place to go to school.

Give the program time. They just brought in a new coaching staff with a history of success this year. Rome wasn't built in a year, as they say.

I guess you would have also not discussed UND two years ago, as they were the "bottom" feeder in the WCHA. Now with a coaching staff change, they have risen in two years from the bottom to the middle of the pack, beating UMD and garnering a few coaches votes in the latest poll. Currently ranked #12 in the nation.:)

Just look at the top 10 this week. There are a few former bottom dwellers ranked higher than perennial contenders.

Quinny is obviously following through on their commitment to grow the program. Thankfully "fans" like canhockey aren't involved.

Suppose that every program had the same resources: coaching, scholarships, facilities, academics, location, $$$. For every win, there would still have to be a loser (okay, maybe not with shootouts;) ), even if everybody does their job perfectly. It is the nature of the game.

Each year, there is only one team that wins it all. Are the rest "losers"? Maybe in the strictest definition, but the whole point of this athletic competition IS the competition. Perhaps some of the women playing for a bottom team derive more satisfaction and grow more as people, and ultimately get more out of the D-I experience than some on contending teams.

I'm sure that there are student athletes playing for Quinnipiac that have great stories that are worth telling. Sadly, I don't know a thing about the Bobcats. But for those who wish to take the time, there are people like me who will be glad to read about them.

I think there was another QU thread because I remember posting in it. I'll post what I said here as well.

When Quinnipiac came to play NU earlier this season, they scared the bejeezus out of me! At that time NU was still unbeaten, and Quinnipiac was frustrating me to no end. They were so feisty, putting alot of shots on goal, and disrupting some of NU's offensive plays. I was worried NU would lose. They will get better. They looked so much better already than they did last season. I would love to talk about them and read up on them. I find that more interesting than reading about the same old "powerhouses" year in and year out.

Agreed. Considering the new coaching staff was not in place until after the recruiting year, the team has done remarkably well already this season. They have also managed to attract some particularly strong recruits for 09, which historically has been an issue for this team. I would expect them to get much stronger in future.

Agreed, and Seely has a pretty strong track record of building successful programs. Excellent school, great facilities, beautiful location. Shouldn't take long at all.

Pulled another point out last night against Union.

A new coaching line-up seems to be a major help. I'm looking forward to seeing what his set of recruits will do for us next year.

I have to think a tie against Union is a disappointment to Rick. But more importantly, let's hope it's a disappointment to the players. As far as recruits go, well, winning brings better players to your program, and right now, this program is just not winning, for whatever reason. It'll be a monumental task but it can be done, with time.

Don't think you will get your wish about it being a disappointment to the players. Union played Princeton the next night to a close game (3-1- same as Princeton RPI the night before.) At some point teams are going to have to pay attention and start admitting Union is competitive.

Union took a win from the men this weekend as well so their level of play against us as a whole has been strong this year. When you look at the weekend as a whole the women had the better of the two teams.

The associate coach who came from Yale, HR, did a great job bringing in talent there. Anyone have any info on these recruits?

to Quinnipiac:
Heather Hughes.....F.....(Stouffville SS/Toronto Aeros/ON Red 18s).....Stouffville, ON
Bree Polci.....F.....(Toronto Aeros/ON Blue 18s).....London, ON
Victoria Vigilanti.....G.....(Mississauga/ON Red 18s).....Woodbridge, ON

Vigilante has been a standout goalie for the last 4 years. When she was first year Midget, she was a game stealer for an average Etobicoke Int AA team. She played the last two years for Mississauga, and was on the Team Ontario Blue team.

Heather Hughes is a complete package type player, solid size, skill and a great hard shot.

Not familiar with Polci.

Trillium should be able to tell you more about these players.
