Well, nobody wanted to play my game...but it looks like the West poll is already out.

ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT women's hockey team has been picked second behind two-time defending Division III champion Plattsburgh State in the 2008-09 ECAC West Preseason coaches poll. The Tigers picked up 89 points and received two first place votes.

RIT, which went 19-7-0 overall and 13-3-0 in the ECAC West, returns six of its top seven scorers from a year ago, three All-ECAC West All-Rookie Team selections, a handful of strong defensemen and starting goaltender from last season.

Head Coach Scott McDonald, now in his third season with the program, has recruited a top-notch freshman class and will have the Tigers poised to make a march towards an ECAC West title in 2008-2009.

The Tigers begin their quest on Saturday, October 25 when they host the Burlington Jr. Barracudas in an exhibition game. Face-off is scheduled for 7 pm at Ritter Arena.

The regular season begins on Friday, October 31 when the Tigers host Robert Morris at 3 pm at Ritter Arena.

so, um, 11 goals scored tonight in Plattsburgh 11-1 (http://collegehockeystats.net/0809/boxes/wpltpot1.o24) win over Potsdam and Miss Blanchard doesn't record one single point. Translation: Lady Cards are scary. scary good. :eek:
