Only graduated 2 players.
4 freshman.
Returning the bulk of their talent.
Ranked 12th going into the season.
Win over Dawson today.
Its looking good.

Okay - here ya go - a cut and paste from the Hockey East thread. My words, my belief.

I agree that BU should be capable of giving anyone in the league trouble, and are very capable of finishing top 4. They were the only team to gain a "W" against Dawson this weekend. UConn has been less than consistant in the past few years, and that could be their downfall again.

I saw Maine scrimmage U Prince Edward Island on Saturday, and beat them with only seven skaters dressed. (Watching from the stands was the remainder of the roster, reportedly a consequence of their making bad decisions). There were a couple of newcomers (#27 Forward Myriam Croussette and #12 Defenseman Melissa Gagnon, both of whom formerly played for Dawson, the team that fared quite well ahgainst HE opponents this weekend), who were head turners. Coach Lichterman and staff seem to have this team headed in a good direction, so don't count them out either.

I'm looking forward to attending a number of games at WBA this year. (and will be more than happy to drop a few bucks on parking this year rather than pick up another ticket). I think the Terriers are a legit threat to be in the the mix for a Hockey East title, and quite possibly a spot in the NCAAs should they not win. Should certainly be an interesting season.

Um... can't really think of anything to say, so i'll do what DC did.

BU: Wilcox is one of the top tenders in the league, and I think they'll be improved. They gave BC fits last year. That said, they're BU and as a BC alum I must rank them lowly.

If the pizza's for nothing then the parking should be painless. :p

Certainly the "T" can't be any worse than the Shamrock's Bus! Use a Charlie Card and get the discounted rates...

The Shamrocks' bus is as fine a traveling vehicle as can be found in the land. New individual reclining seats will be installed next week, and a new audio and video system is soon to follow. (And the snack "cart" is second to none!) :p

thank you all.

"We like to put the top four in the league as one of our immediate goals," said Durocher. "Can we get to three, two or one? That's another goal we put out there. Beyond that, we look at winning the Beanpot, winning Hockey East and potentially making the NCAA tournament. That may be a lofty goal, but it's certainly something we keep out there as a long-range objective."

BD is certainly optimistic but I think he has every right to be they are the only team in HE that didnt lose a chunk of talent - "Durocher has an experienced squad with 10 seniors and seven juniors making up the bulk of a group of 20 returning letter winners and four newcomers"

They could have used some more offensive players this year seeing as they didn't have the best performance last year but the 1 they added is off to a good start... scoring 2 goals in the scrimage

Based on what I saw last year, I think this is a team that is underestimated. It's a team you don't hear much about.

I am right with ya on that. They have played UNH tough every game, and that's no fluke. It took ~4minutes and 56 seconds of OT for UNH to beat them last year on the Lake, and they give us fits in their barn. Look out for the Terriers.

Will be in town for the 23rd dust-up with UNH at WB.

Can someone provide specific directions using public transportation from Logan to Walter Brown? Plane lands around 5pm and game starts at 7pm.

Have heard take two trains from the airport and get off off at the second BU stop but I need specifics...do I need exact change and how much?

Thanks in advance!

Looking forward to seeing most of the frequent posters there...post-game food fare needs to be chosen from the dining list.

you should only need two dollars.. and you take the silver line which is buses and they might take you to the green line and you get off at babcock street which is def not the second stop prob more like the 12th or something... maybe the bc boys could help you better with the directions.

Hey, Agannis is on pleasant stop. The closest T stop to Walter Brown is actually Babcock.

At the airport, they give great directions of how to get to the green line (B). Just go to the little booth by the luggage, and they set you up with a map and detailed directions. The people working in the booth actually discouraged us from taking a cab from the airport. We got different directions from those just posted, but the whole trip did take 1 hour and was painless. (Just make sure to have light luggage).

A little better better formatted:

Silver Line bus (they pretend it's a subway) to SOUTH STATION.
From South Station, Red Line inbound (toward Alewife) to PARK STREET.
From Park Street, take the Green "B" Line toward Boston College to BABCOCK STREET.

When you get off, just walk down Babcock Street and it's about 1/4 mile down on your right.

Since you are starting on the Silver Line and returning on the B line, you're going to need exact change (though you can use bills). It's 2 dollars per person one way.

Though loss for the ladies last night after taking at 2-0 lead in the second, only to let Mercyhurst take a 4 goal run.
They did a good job of keeping Agosta off the score sheet, they need to keep up the offensive drive the whole game. I'm looking to see the freshman get on the board today, also hoping Wilcox will shut down the Lakers offense.
Hopefully it will be a new game and a better outcome for the Terriers today.
Especially after the game I'm sure they'd like to have back against RPI. On that note they did do a great job of rebounding just have to keep it going all three periods today.

A great win for the ladies today! ;)

Mercyhurst jumped out to a quick lead, and added to it not to much later as BU seemed a step slower and somewhat out of sync. Passes weren't crisp, decision making was flawed, and repeated trips to the box didn't help them establish any sort of rhythm.

The start of the second period saw a completely different team take the ice. While passing still left something to be desired, the intensity had jumped considerably, as did their offensive opportunities. Alas, for all the chances, nothing seemed to bounce right for the Terriers. They seemed to take just that much too long to release the puck, and Courtney Drennen was there. She flat out robbed Holly Lorms of layup goal with an incredible glove save. Drennen did a great job of controlling rebounds, so second chances were limited. Mercyhurst had a few chances early in the period, then were pretty much shut down for the remainder of the stanza. Staying out of the box was huge in allowing BU to maintain the attack.

BU continued their high pressure, up tempo pace to open the third and were rewarded with a goal at the hands of Jillian Kirchner. Not long after Erin Seman stepped into a draw back off the faceoff, and sent a laser from just inside the top of the circle past the ear of Drennen into the top corner. With the game now tied, Mercyhurst responded with an uptick in their game and got BU back on their heels some. Things then opened up for a time, but BU regained control with a 5 on 3 late in the period. While they didn't score, it seemed to deflate Mercyhurst's burst, and the Terriers were able to capitalize when Johnnie Bloemers knocked home the rebound of an Amanda Shaw backhand. (which came after she walked down the left wing, deking out several players) BU killed off a late penalty, and then left little opportunity for Mercyhurst when Drennen was pulled with a minute left.

Hey BU, you just beat the #5 team in the country. How about a little chatter and bragging. Nice job ladies.
