Minnesota 8, Saskatchewan 0 (http://collegehockeystats.net/0809/boxes/wminssk1.s26) - Is it too early to speculate that Erickson could just well be WCHA ROY? If Stats.net is accurate, the Lam-Lam-Schoullis line was reunited. Jones-West and Marvin up front. I like that. An all rookie PP goal was scored 12 minutes into the first period with Mo off a feed from Erickson and Schleper...
ETA: Good recap from ManBehindtheCurtain here (http://board.uscho.com/showpost.php?p=3895393&postcount=6).

Since she is from Quebec and is a '91 birth year, I believe she will be in the recruiting class following this season's.

Don't the girls in Quebec go to college one year latter than the girls in the rest of North America due grade 12 and 13 academic program in their province?

Gotice is correct on the age thing in Quebec. Quebec CEGEP system is a different setup than the rest of Canada. Girls coming out of those programs heading to University tend to be 1 year and 3 months older, as the cuttoff is Oct 1. For example kids in Ontario born Dec 31,1991 or earlier are coming out this year (Unless they do a victory lap like Ms Sabatini for example). In Quebec this years grads from CEGEP are born Sep 30, 1990 or earlier.
Ms Poulin born in 91 is just entering CEGEP, so she won't come out until the spring of 2010. I'm sure many are drooling over acquiring her already. Oles is born late 90 who is also just now starting CEGEP. Poulin's Ontario counterpart Jenner is born the same year, but should come out this year.

SCSU2039

St. Cloud State 10, Saskatchewan 2.
Hard to take much away from this game. Each one of SCSU's freshman goaltenders gave up 1 goal. Didn't really get much of an idea of how good either one is since they didn't face too many shots. SCSU got a lot of its scoring from the usual suspects from last year. Near the end of the game Saskatchewan was getting beat to a lot of loose pucks. I wish I could say something more about Saskatchewan, but I'm not very familar with them.
on a side note, SCSU's 10 goals is the most SCSU has scored in team history. They did do a shootout after the game but I didn't watch it.

From the Minnesota State page:
"Mavericks Score Four Goals in Third Period; Lose in Shootout to Whitecaps
Mankato, Minn. - The Minnesota State women’s hockey team scored four goals in the final 11:27 of the third period to force overtime at 6-6 in and exhibition game with the visiting Minnesota Whitecaps. MSU scored four unanswered goals, including one with 20 seconds remaining, to force overtime. Both teams went scoreless in the extra session and a shootout commenced. The Whitecaps scored on their first two opportunities and MSU missed on its first two, giving the Whitecaps the win. "
College Hockey Stats seems to be missing shootouts...Union also scored in a shootout to 'win' its game against the Toronto Aeros Jr team.

WOW!!! I am stunned. Minnesota is my pick for the national championship of teams not named Boston College.
EDIT: I mean... wow. I know it's hockey, but... wow.
WOW is right. Tough one for Coach Frost to swallow, but overall it is very good for women's college hockey.
