Is the US putting in a university all star team in the University games to be held in china in February? Canada is putting together an all star team of CIS players and the team is being picked from a camp being held this week in conjunction with the Team Canada U22 camp. There is a CIS team at the U22 camp taking part in practices and exhibition games against the U22 players.

Good question? I know USA Hockey sends ACHA mens players over for the annual University Games. This would be a great opportunity for DIII girls to wear the red, white and blue.

Why DIII? Why not DI?
Why DIII? Why not DI?
Because DIII players get left out of the mix on National team play and because many of the National team players competing in the World Championships in April are D1 players required to miss two weeks of school as it is. Teams are also coming down to crunch time in their conferences. As well all know there is a higher emphasis on winning at the D1 level, than in DIII, what with scholarships and big salaries for coaches. As such DIII players make the most sense.
