Ohio State, Mercyhurst and BC come to mind at the moment. I'll have to take another look as there are quite a few good ones.

Just refreshed my memory. Add Cornell and Minnesota. North Dakota looks to have a really good group this year, as does Providence. Northeastern's class, though small, is real quality in my opinion, maybe not top 10 but it looks good. They made their limited scholarships count. Other schools look good too but I don't know enough about their recruits to feel comfortable making a guess. Don't think I can make a top 10 list yet until I do a little more research on some of these players.

I'll give it a shot, but to be honest, its rather difficult (for me anyway) to rank incoming classes.

I'll go with:

1. Minnesota
2. Ohio State
3. Cornell
4. Mercyhurst
5. Providence
6. BC
7. Wisconsin
8. No. Dak.
9. Dartmouth
10. St. Lawrence

Though, I am hoping Da Big Bad Cow is right. :D

Fun Thread, but I would think since the late signing period has recently come, that we will see more players announced as incoming freshmen to these schools that may not have hit the gossip threads yet. This info may change people's thoughts on who has a better class.

I could see a little bit of shifting around, but I can't think of any players yet to commit out there that would lead me to significantly change my ranking.

I'm still waiting to see where Griffin (NAHA) heads. Doesn't change my rankings, but has me interested.

What would help me the most right now is if I could get a ranking on players coming from up north by Trillium or OnMAA. Obviously I know which ones are the big names, which ones lead the stats, and so on, but I am looking for an overall individual package rating.

Minnesota (because of the twins and Erickson)
Ohio State (because of Theut, Spooner, McIntosh, Wild)
Wisconsin (because they didn't need much but filled slots with quality players,Haverstock, Ammerman, Prevost etc.)
The rest fall into the "kinda the same" category........

It's a very tough call to rank the 2008-2009 recruiting classes with several excellent classes in my view. Says something about the increase in depth of top end talent I think...when as many teams have 5-6 top notch players in their rookie class to be, as opposed to 1-2 of those types of players with 4-5 a step below.

While it's pretty difficult to rank / sequence the classes top to bottom from what is a subjective point of view and as many strong classes as there are...what I'm really looking forward to is seeing which of the many fine bunch of recruits ultimately has the biggest impact on the fortunes of their new teams next season.

I enjoy reading the rankings of others in this thread. In the WCHA, I think UND and OSU could improve significantly with their frosh classes...certainly Minnesota has much potential for positive impact with an excellent class...have to balance that with their very significant losses to graduation.

I'm still contemplating my WCHA standings prognostication...based in no small part on those rookie classes.

That makes the most sense to me. I figured she would be one of the first to commit and although she still has ample time to, since she presently has not, I figured she was most likely planning to do a PG year. Thanks for the low down on the down low Snicky.
