FYI, the very successful University of New Brunswick men's hockey team just competed in the finals for the national championship this past weekend and lost to U of Alberta. (How's that for karma?) UNB announced in recent weeks that the women's hockey team which has been around for 5 years is being discontinued effective immediately.

The team (and women's hockey/athletics in general) needs all the support it can get in a last ditch effort to try to keep the program alive.

Just bringing this back to the forefront. The petition to save UNB Women's Hockey now has over 1000 signatures, including a Canadian Olympian, several prominent NCAA women's college hockey players, and various Canadian club and university women's hockey coaches.

Every signature may make a difference, so if you can help please do so.

Thanks Trillum...The Lead executive of the OWHA signed it as well, along with many Canadian CIS college players. There are some great quotes of support along the way in the petition but this one from a long time Team Canada players summed it up best for those that have seen the womens programs grow over the years....This lady has 3 Olympic medals and at least 7 World Championship golds medals in her awards cabinet.

Her Quote: "We worked too long and too hard to let it go".
