"With the hockey season moving swiftly along and February fast approaching the eyes of the college hockey world will turn to Boston. As I’m sure you are aware the first two weeks of February means Beanpot hockey. This tournament, which has brought national attention to four local colleges since 1952, has turned into more than just an athletic competition – it has become one of the region’s most important social events of the year. This type of attention has no doubt generated enough hype and excitement to promote hockey in our area and ensure that future generations will be filled with the enthusiasm and desire to compete in the sport we love.
Unfortunately, many Beanpot enthusiasts see the tournament only as the first Mondays of February and are missing out on some terrific hockey. The Women’s Beanpot, which takes place the first two Tuesdays of February, showcases some of the best women’s ice hockey in the country. With your help, we can use the event to promote women’s hockey as the men have done with their tournament, we can demonstrate how quickly our sport has grown and how talented our players are.
The more spectators we have in the stands, the more buzz will be created and the more our sport will benefit from this event. So tell your friends, families and teams to join us at Walter Brown Arena at Boston University on February 5th and 12th for a great time and some great hockey. If you can't make it to the games live please watch it on http://www.b2tv.com/ "
