DIII Split

I know that this is an old and much debated topic,but has anyone heard anything recent about a DIII reorg or a DIV division.I an hearing rumblings again that the NCAA will be discussing the issue at their upcoming jan. meeting with any potential changes occuring in 2009 0r 2110

He does a good job of explaining some of the problems that the different institutions face in staying competitive in a number of different sports.

In the article he says that a vote on creating a new subdivision — Division iV — could happen in January 2009. We should be hearing more about this soon, I expect. It could force some interesting choices for hockey playing institutions.

according to the NCAA web page,the issue is being discussed and debated in earnest at the convention over the past few days.Presidential control,number of sports offered, athletic philosophy and size of the institution appear to be issues being discussed.
judging from the tone of the articles on the web,the issue appears to be very much alive.
