All over,

tie game

2-2

I was prepping paint project and checking in - it wasn't an easy game to keep up with. Justamom - be interesting to hear what happened aside from the SOG's indicating that daughter stood on her HEAD all night:eek:
The results tonight have made a trip south on saturday even more compelling:)

If you want, you can watch the game online from the BC website. I think it costs 6.95 or something, but it's a pretty decent feed.

I will be at work, if they have live stats like game tracker I am ok, I can keep it running in the background, however pay for video or something, not happening on my work computer lol:confused:

Don't worry - with the fine education your D's getting, she'll be supporting you soon;)

Can anyone elaborate on what is going on with BC. I just don't understand how you can have all of the same players with more experience, a new coach with obvious hockey knowledge, and not be putting games away. What is going on? BC is loaded with players who can put the puck in the net and they are not. Shaus had an amazing freshman year and was like a wall, and is not having that kind of year this year thus far. Is it a team that just can't get over the negatives of the end of the season incident last year, is it the chemistry? I just don't understand how the same group of players that had so much fire in them last year are playing like their matches are wet.

As far as UConn goes, they only have 2 players putting the puck in the net. They have great goaltending obviously but how far can that take them if they are not generating the offense.

As a UNH fan, I am dissappointed that the league seems down from last year. I was expecting BC, UNH, UConn and PC to have some close exicting battles this season (especially BC and UConn) but when I see a game that UConn was up 2-0, BC tied with 36 sec left and there were 2 shots in the OT. I just don't see it. When you consider that UConn went on the board 14 seconds into the game and BC tied with 36 seconds left in the game where was the focus?? Especially, UConn letting that goal up at the end of the game when all they had to do was keep the puck deep. I am hoping that these 2 teams improve so that the league improves. But the BC team baffles me.

But the BC team baffles me.The goal to make it 2-2 came on the PP with the goalie pulled, so it was 6-on-4 -- a lot of goals are scored under those conditions. As for BC, like you said, they have a new coach. She has all kinds of experience as a player and may prove to be an excellent coach, but this is her first time being a head coach at D-I. It is rather optimistic to assume a team will not miss a beat under new direction from a staff that is probably learning as well.

I understand the 6-4 but all UConn had to do was ice the puck. I know the extra skater reaks havoc but it is tough to give up the win with 36 sec left.

My point regarding BC is that this is the same team as last year. The difference I see is not having any impact freshman this year. Arm if you saw them live this year vs. last year you would be able to relate to my point. There are players on this team that are capable and they are just not looking like they are having fun out there.

For much of the game, UConn couldn't get the puck out of their own end when it was even strength.

UNH did exactly the same thing at home last year against Dartmouth. They lost the win when Darty pulled the goalie for the extra. UNH was uncharacteristically unpoised (if that's a word), and instead of playing good solid man down D, they all tried for the empty net. One of the hail mary "shots" was intercepted, and boom - tied.

I understand the 6-4 but all UConn had to do was ice the puck.I didn't see it, but I'm sure that they tried. The other thing to factor in is that during the last minute the team that is down becomes desperate and can play 100% offense. It is one thing to defend against a team that has defensive responsibilities, quite another to hold off one where all six on the ice are working to get the puck in your net.

My point regarding BC is that this is the same team as last year. The difference I see is not having any impact freshman this year. Arm if you saw them live this year vs. last year you would be able to relate to my point. There are players on this team that are capable and they are just not looking like they are having fun out there.I've never seen BC, and I'm looking forward to doing so for the first time in a few weeks. But I'd still contend that they are not the same team -- a change in the head coach makes that a given. Have they dropped that much in their results? They didn't beat UNH, but UNH is improved. Teams like UConn and Minnesota have passed them in the rankings, but both had some very inconsistent results last year and have been steadier so far.

You may be right -- BC could have all sorts of internal problems. So could just about any other team, even winning teams, and unless one is inside that locker room, it is just speculation. So I'll just judge BC by their results on the ice, say that they are down a little, but not that much. As for anybody in HEA giving UNH serious competition for more than just an odd game, I don't see it happening this year.

IDK why everyone is assuming Schaus isn't playing well this year -- SHE IS. She made a number of outstanding saves yesterday, in fact. Schaus has not been the problem.

They haven't developed chemistry on their scoring lines or with their defensive pairs and their offense has come in fits and starts... period. Tomorrow will tell us a lot about the team's mindset, methinks.
