Game of the Week...

Is anyone else going to be at the game...or streaming the game?

Predictions?

Harvard is undefeated, but I think they have played only at home to start the season (scratch that, I just checked, they have played one game on the road, Yale, won 3-0).

Last year Dartmouth beat Harvard at Dartmouth and the two teams tied at Harvard. Not sure that matters much though, since both teams are very much different this season.

I'll be watching.

You have the results backwards, the teams tied at Harvard.

But yeah, it does matter that Harvard's had poor results in Hanover the last two years, as this year's team has played only one road game. Also last year's team was an ugly 0-6-0 against current top 10 teams away from Bright (including a 3 OT and a 4 OT), and 15-1-2 at home. True, it's not the same team, but it's been a long time since the Harvard program won a big game on the road.

Harvard 2 - Dartmouth 1

Box score (http://collegehockeystats.net/0708/boxes/wdarhar1.n27)is up

A couple of things I noticed in the first period before I snoozed. Dartmouth was the better team. Harvard had a wicked counter attack, and was great at intercepting passes. Don't know how it went from there. Oh well, there is always next time.

Harvard got two PPs early in the second and controlled momentum in the 2nd even after those PPs, leading to the 2-1 lead at the end of the period.

I didn't watch the third as closely, but my impression is Harvard bunkered a bit, and Harvard hung on for dear life against the Dartmouth 6-on-4, and caught a break with 16 seconds left when Dartmouth was called for a high stick that moved the faceoff into the Green zone.

Anyway, biggest road win for Harvard since their 2006 ECAC tourney run. Congrats to them, 7-0.
