My rational here is that its how they finished last year and until someone from the West beats Point they are still "The Best in the West". Gustavus gets the first opportunity.;)

WOW - 5-1 in favor of Point, that is a huge win for them, and a big loss for Gustavus. I could not believe the difference in penalties and that Gustavus was only able to manage one goal. Congrats to the Pointers!

I think the more shocking stat is 4 goals on 5 shots in the first period

I agree it looks that way on paper..but who knows the netminder could have had a stomach flu...and keep in mind the shot count...the gusties weren't idle. We will have to see more than one bad game to get a read on them.:cool:

Yeah, you can talk about the goalies all you want, which seems to be a popular target for Gustavus. But how about the fact that they had 9 powerplays, and only generated one goal. A lot of those 35 shots, came on powerplay, not on 5 on 5. Did Scavo have a lot of help on the defensive side or was she left out to dry? A shot count is very misleading, you can shoot from the blue line or side boards 35 times or you can shoot from the slot 10 times, I'd rather have the slot shots.

oops...must have looked at the box wrong or something...but I know when I was watchin the live feed from uscho...that they showed the scored board at one point and SP had 4 goals on 7 shots...which would mean that Point scored on their first 2 shots of the 2nd...still not good.
