Who are the captains for UConn this season? What do you see for this team for 2007-2008. I know there is strength in the goalie, what are the other strengths and weaknesses. Go UConn!!!!!!!

"I just try to stay with [the puck], especially in a game with low shots," Wilson said. "You really need to stay focused in the zone. Mentally you need to be focused and need to know the job you have to do. I try to follow the play and not get caught looking up into the stands."
Oh geez, Brit, if there's one think you aren't good at, it's that and going on facebook too much :p

hey rockstarr, I think they meant UCONN plays SLU and Colgate this weekend!!
I think Colgate played respectable enough v. UNH to make it a close game - but thought they could have challenged BC more --still I think UCONN will do OK with Colgate, and maybe tie SLU;) ;)

Thanks Shebster,
In that case, I go with
SLU over UConn
Colgate over UConn (or a tie)

Thibault Family Reunion At Freitas
While the majority of the women's hockey team was focused solely on beating Minnesota State this weekend, the weekend series had a little extra meaning for Dominique Thibault.
Thibault's older sister, Adreanne, is a senior starting defenseman for the Mavericks. Not only that, but much of the Thibault family, including two family members celebrating their 50th anniversary, came down from Canada to watch the two sisters face off.
It was hard not to notice when they were on the ice at the same time as they both stand over 5-feet-10 inches tall and have a style of play that garners attention.
With both the Minnesota State No. 18 and the UConn No. 96 jerseys in the stands, the younger Thibault did not disappoint the 18 members of the family that made the drive starting the weekend with an assist in the 2-0 win on Friday and finishing with two assists and the game winning goal with 34 seconds left on Saturday.
"I think she has played hard and worked hard," said head coach Heather Linstad. "There was a little bit of incentive going against her sister."
That fact that her family was on hand to watch her score the game winning goal made it especially rewarding.
"I was fired up and running on adrenaline," said Thibault. "It was great that they all drove down to see it."
Although she was playing against a family member, Thibault stressed that she did not let it change the way she played.
"For sure it was weird playing against my older sister but you still have to go hard all the time," Thibault said.
It apparently had no effect on her level of aggressiveness as several times they got tangled up in some pretty physical play. Despite the rough encounters they both met at center ice after each game for an embrace.
Even though they play on different teams, the two sisters are each others biggest fan.
"We go to different schools, but for sure we support each other," Thibault said.
As far as being a role model, Thibault did not down play the importance of having someone to look up to.
"She has always been my idol," Thibault said. "She always led the way and showed me what to do."
Family ties aside, the importance of having won both games this weekend cannot be downplayed. The two wins move the Huskies to 3-1 against two quality opponents - the kind of opponent that they had difficulty with down the stretch last season - with Thibault being a key reason for their early success.
"Do has been great this year," Linstad said. "she loves representing the University of Connecticut."
In the first four games she has accumulated three goals and four assists so it's clear the success of her and the team are closely related.
They will need Thibault and everyone else to be at their best in the coming week as their difficult schedule continues when they face No. 3 St. Lawrence Friday.
