Yeah, pretty much any time someone replies "Oh snap!," someone invariably follows it with that picture.
Both the "Oh Snap" and "Whammy" started when people started using "Zing" too loosely.
I imagine that Grant probably got it from EI.
Ah, then forget about it. I never said it. ;)

My complaint was aimed more towards the band than yourself, I wasn't even aware you play it. That and them playing the sieve chant during play for what seems like over a minute sometimes. Puck drops, zip it.
Well yeah, but that's a chant, not music.

I just want to point out that this is the most amusing thread since the Beanpot final discussion.... thank you Hux!

You must spread reputation around before giving it to Wild E. Cat again
By the way, I think all you fine UNH folks know how much I admire your program and your fan support (all jokes aside). But your 'style' on game day is not really my style. Doesn't make one better than the other.

Apparently none of you all have been to a basketball game. And last time I was at a UNH game (UNH-Wisco X 2), UNH fans (men's fans...not sure why they decided to randomly show up to a women's game) were anything but quite during play. Don’t tell me the constant OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH is anything different than the Sieve chant. And the cowbell? What category does that fall under?

lol, I did it for you, Joe.
And I don't think I'm arguing with anyone here except HUX, am I? I find this to be much more of a good discussion rather than an argument.
Except with HUX. Him, I'm arguing with.

Which leads us to the age old question, if the BC pep band jumped off a bridge, would I do it too?
No.
We could only be so lucky, I can only deal with an endless loop of three songs ("For Boston", "Ya'll Ready For This?", and "Zombie Nation") for so long. And with Zombie if it's not the band then it's the PA every stoppage.

I greatly hate this reality about BC hockey and wish it would change, but the difference probably has more to do with the lack of anything else to do in Durham, NH than the fighting spirit and devotion to hockey of the average UNH student
Only 2000 tickets are reserved for UNH students, and only for Maine are they all used by students.
Most of those who attend UNH games are not from Durham or the seacoast.
Arriving late and leaving early are, however, common traits for all of BCs revenue sports...as I'm sure you know.
Also, spare me the "lack of anything to do" bs. People aren't showing up late to BC hockey because of all the things to do in Boston. Further, there is plenty to do in the seacoast area of NH...including a fairly easy trip to Boston. And yet the Whitt is pretty much full for every game, and are easily a top 2 traveling fanbase in HEA.

I am kidding, for the love of frickin' Jeebus. Can't we have one bit of smack talk without the UNH army getting uppity the second I make a comment about 'the greatest fans in the history of college hockey'
BC hockey fans suck... I get it... I know it... and I don't care

Typically, I wouldn't expect an endless loop of 'For Boston' to enthrall an opposing fan based on what typically precedes it
And hey, ClOuD, go a little easier on me, I'm not trying to fight with you at all. :(
EDIT: Seriously, Joe and I didn't start attacking anybody, we were having a nice lighthearted jab with you guys, where did all of this harshness come from?

Atmospheres that just exist, such as at Fenway, are rare in any sport.

Careful, don't they filter this kind of stuff at BC? :D

Well, the 'sieve' chant is just percussion when the band does it, so it's not that big of a deal IMO
See also, NU: "Let's Go Huskies!" cheer with full drum usage during play. Grinds my gears.

I think you'll find my argument was not at all aimed toward them cheering during the game, that was HUX. As for the cowbell, I couldn't agree more, move it to a stoppage ala BU or Cornell, it would also give the fan that plays it the benefit of being able to use it at most visiting arenas (as it would be properly classified as an instrument instead of a 'noisemaker').

More bad news for Boston, and wayyyyy off subject, a really fat, obnoxious girl was on MTV's Sweet 16 representing Boston last night. Good thing they kept saying she was from Boston, cause she was the spitting image of Goldy the Gopher. yuck. Sorry Boston, you got screwed. :(

Well, what we have here is a definition dispute... I happen to think the "Let's go Huskies" chant w/ the drums is badass, and I have no problem at all with it.

Oh come on now ClOuD, you haven't stooped to complaining about opposing teams' cheers, have you? You aren't supposed to like them, but most fans accept them and welcome them as part of the college hockey experience. You're better than that.
We would never have any of these issues talking to a Cornell or - yes - a BU fan, where there is actually a hell of an atmosphere at the games.
