BU Scholarship Fund for Goalies Announced

There is a new scholarship fund for BU women's hockey (http://www.bu.edu/phpbin/news-cms/news/?dept=38&id=46193), in the name of Mike Geragosian with an initial $500,000 endowment from an anonymous donor. Financial support will be awarded annually to a women’s ice hockey goaltender. Geragosian, who has been the BU men's goalie coach for eight years and whose son is a netminder for Northeastern, is credited with helping John Curry become an All-American for the Terriers.

This is great news! BU certainly seems to be headed in the right direction building up the women’s program. With this funding they might be able to land some solid goaltenders in addition to Ms. Wilcox. They brought in a great recruiting class this season and even attracted the attention of some nationally known players for 08-09 season (BSkudder; F, NAHA, 90…eventually verbaled to UNH, though she was considering BU/BC). They only lost one player (that I know of) from last years team that went 19-12-3 overall. They need to be a little more competitive in HE play (10-9-2) but it should be interesting to watch this team develop.

Good call Hux, hasty me :p . Haber is a solid goaltender. And I think both goaltenders will get even better these next few seasons…
