Cushing-6
NMH-3

Thanks! The ranks below are still missing 4 games. The only one that could make a difference is the Lawrence Milton 01/30 game.

On the D1 rankings, I'm fairly confident on the formula.

As for D2, I'm going with what a D1 coach told me,
an average of 3 polls, 1)overall, 2)overall x # of D1 played,
3)against D2 schools with +0.500 record

Team: Total Rank
Nobles 01.00 1
Berkshire 03.17 2
Hotchkiss 04.00 3.5
Taft 04.00 3.5
Choate 04.83 5
Tabor 05.67 6
Westminster 06.33 7
Lawrence 08.00 8
Cushing 11.17 9
Brewster 11.83 10
Exeter 12.17 11
Loomis 13.33 12

Team: Total Rank
Rivers 02.17 1
Governor's 03.17 2.5
K-O 03.17 2.5
Middlesex 04.33 4
Proctor 05.00 5
Groton 07.17 6
Holderness 07.67 7
Brooks 10.33 8
Thayer 11.00 9
Greenwich 11.17 10.5
Kents Hill 11.17 10.5
Kimball Union 11.67 12

The first number is the average of the 3 polls, the 2nd number is the ranking.

Wow, did Southfield drop out completely based upon that formula?

I'm missing 5 scores:
Lawrence Milton 1/30
Winsor Berwick 2/2
Cushing NMH 2/9
Canterbury Lawrenceville 2/9
Rye-CD Ports-Abbey 2/9

Lawrence 10 Milton 0. Some key matchups still left in both Divisions. I expect the standing to change over the next 2 weeks. Should be fun to see who moves up.

In my opinion Nobles will only move up since they do not have an opponent left who can beat them. Berkshire plays Westy,Taft and Choate. Those 3 games alone will significantly impact the standings. Choate also has Taft, Hotchkiss and Cushing in addition to the Berkshire game. LA has Middlesex, Rivers and Brewster. Brewster still has Loomis in addition to LA, so it looks like things are far from being settled. (except for Nobles):o

After dealing with the foot+ of snow in my driveway this morning and the prospect of sleet and then freezing rain later today, I'm wondering if Old Man Winter is going to put in his two cents worth too. Although I haven't heard yet, I'd be very surprised if Brewster is able to make the trip to Loomis in this kind of weather. Same thing happened last year and the game was never made up. If the weather does cause cancellations for today, for anyone, I hope the games are able to be rescheduled instead of totally gone. With three or four teams fighting for the last playoff spot, at least that's how it looks to me, I'd hate to see anyone lose an opportunity to control their own destiny. Safety first though, not worth the risk of any long trips in weather like todays.

Brewster/Loomis cancelled.:( Girls were ready to get on the bus when the plug was pulled. Brewster wanted to reschedule for Monday but as of now, cancelled is the word.:(

I stand corrected. Loomis has the game on for Monday @ 6PM. Super.

@Kingswood 2 Choate 2 (OT)

Great game, KO was very strong the first period, would be interest in the shots on net, KO was probably higher

If I remember correctly
1st period 0-0
2nd period 1-1
3rd period, KO scores but only maintains the lead for a couple of minutes, the period ends at 2-2

OT nothing was decided game ended with at 2-2 tie

I have seen her play .. I am sure we will be seeing her name a lot in the next few years...
anyone know the Proctor - Rivers score?

Rivers 3 Proctor 2

Both teams are solid... Rivers has the better 3rd line.

With the exception of the first 7 minutes of the game (Rivers dominated and scored 2 goals), it was very even. Proctor came close to tying it at the end a few times.

After watching PA all year, I was looking forward to this one, and it did not disappoint.

In all likelihood, here is your final 8, though the order may change slightly as many of these teams play a final game or two against each other:

Nobles
Berkshire (plays Taft)
Hotchkiss (plays Choate and Taft)
Taft (plays Berkshire and Hotchkiss)
Choate (plays Hotchkiss and Cushing)
Tabor (plays Cushing)
Westminster
Lawrence (Plays Brewster)

(games in parens are games that are likely to affect standings, assuming other remaining games are against D-2's, or teams with a less than .500 record)

Brewster v. Lawrence gives Brewster an outside shot at nipping Lawrence for the last spot.

Meanwhile, my math (unofficial and imperfect) tells me that even if Cushing beats Tabor and Choate, I don't think they can pass either Lawrence or Brewster.

Much improved year for Exeter... congrats!! However, record against D-1's with a record => 500 is 1-5 by my count, which obviously hurts their chance at the top 8, but a good turnaround year just the same!

Loomis 0-8-3 vs. D-1 > .500; not happening here either!

Although I agree with your top 8, you may want to look at Berkshire being the one to get edged out. They just picked up their 6th loss with a game to go against Taft. Taft also has 5 losses and has Berkshire and Hotchkiss left. They could easily be looking at 6 or 7 losses. Even Tabor has 5 losses with a game left against Cushing. If they lose that they will have 6 losses. LA has 5 losses (one loss is to NAHA which doesn't count in the standings). Tough games with Brewster and Rivers left, but in my opinion LA may be able to lose one more game and still get in. The last week will still impact the standing greatly. Berkshire may have to win out to make it in.

How is it decided which teams will make the play offs? everybody seems to have it differently
