WOW!
4 points in one game.
Move over girl's- she's here! and she's from Minnesota.
Is anyone else thinking what I'm thinking?
I never thought we would see the likes or anyone close to Krissy or Natalie but I think we just found our new face for women's hockey. Ms. Marvin. She has the smarts of a Darwitz and the skill of a Wendell, what a combo.
Congratulations Gigi.

Does anyone know how Gigi did today in her own home town of Warroad? I bet she had a big crowd come out to see her in her USA jersey.
Marvin had a goal and an assist in Warroad. USA won 5-0. We saw the USA beat Sweden 7-1 at the Ralph. The speed, hockey smarts and stickhandling of the three you mention, in particular was absolutely amazing!! The Friday night game started slow but then WOW!!

LLL,
Who's on what line?
At the Ralph, the first line was Lawler, Darwitz and Wendell; on PK the coach appeared to be trying different mixes altho Marvin was out there with Darwitz at times. Marvin seemed to mainly be skating with Duggan and Knight but the lines seemed to roll some, too, as I remember her being out there with Hagge, too. Have to say though the energy was high whenever Marvin, Wendell or Darwitz were out there. We had three Canadian coaches sitting abit behind us~taking notes like mad and one of the plays when Marvin scored~I overheard one of them nice player-aye!
Parsons was not there so really curious to see how the lines all shake out.

Thanks, LLL.
Where's Parsons?
Don't know so if someone out there knows the scoop there please share.
Our daughter was looking forward to watching her play in person. We did not stay around for autographs so possibly she was there but did not play don't know.

Re: Women's Worlds 2007
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I loved Gigi's diary so far, I hope you continue to post it. I have always admired her as a player, and I am continually impressed by everything I read about her. The few times I have met her she has always been polite and friendly. What a well rounded girl. I for one am very proud she is from Minnesota. Keep up the good work Gigi!

I wanted to move this to Gigi's page, could someone explain to me how to do this correctly.

Copy the text which results in the reply box. Return to this thread (without hitting "Submit Reply" in the other thread), click "Post Reply" here, then paste the text into the text window, add any text that you like, then click "Submit Reply" (on the reply in this thread). If you wish, you can then delete your other post.

c'mon with the humility... I'm sure she can do better than merely child's pose. it's not like hockey players have zero flexibility. :p

Great entry. That just had to be an incredible experience for Gigi and the team...but especially for Gigi, local friends and family.
She is also the Home Page girl on the USA Hockey web site.
Notice the Qwest logo on the upper arms. Good to see that they are including the sponsor on the jerseys. While not a fan of the Euro style of billboarding the jerseys, I think a max of four sponsor logos along the color bone (two each side), done in one color (navy on white, white on the red/navy jerseys) and of the same size would offer plenty of advertising opportunity, without becoming garrish or gaudy.
The women's program is going to need sponsor dollars to enable them to offer the training and stipends and the like to the National teams, which will now include a U19 team, and allow them to flourish and stay with HC.

Big props to the people of Warrod for giving the team a reception like that. I'm sure that really will give the girls a boost going into the tourney. With any luck a lot of those fans will trek up the road to Winnepeg to cheer the girls on in the tourney.
We're up to journal entry #4 in Gigi's diary:

For those who think they know the Gophers well, take a shot at guessing the players associated with the following:
“Who thinks she can help everyone because she’s a certified lifeguard”
“Who rocks out to Shania Twain in her Sunfire”
“Who got a ticket for biking across the street when the ‘Do not cross’ sign was blinking?”
I'm told that Gigi will provide the answers next time.
Hey, I think the kid has a career in journalism ahead of her. What great, witty, informative piece. :D

Maybe Gigi's next entry can tell how it feels to make 10,000 Canadians go silent.
