Superior not making the tourney is saddening for me. Seriously all that had to happen was for one of the eastern tourneys today to go the way it was supposed to and that didn't happen. But really it comes down to superior not always showing up to play and not playing up to their abilities all season. Losses to Eau Claire and 2 ties with Lake Forest aren't going to get you in. They finally were able to solve the Stevens Point problem in the regular season this year, just to get ousted again by an amazing goaltender in Statz. She made some awesome and lucky saves yesterday. The NCHA website says she was the winning goaltender in all 4 of the NCHA championship games the past 4 years. I guess i didn't realize that.

With that said. I'm going to start my post season wierdness and become a Pointer fan. If one team can beat Gustavus its the Pointers and i'm predicting they do...probably in OT.

So can we assume Plattsburghs hosting the final 4??

Not to pour salt in the wound but Superior needed both RIT and Middlebury to win. If one of them had lost Elmira would have been the other Pool C bid. As it stands now, Elmira was the first team out followed by Superior.

Possibly...with the Secondary criteria..its possible the head to head win could of put superior in over Elmira I think. Elmira probably would have gotten the nod, but there was that possibility :)

Statz was awesome, and a little luck never hurts. However, Point wins as a team, and that game was no exception. Point was starting to carry the play effectively in the 1st OT before Mosher went down with the injury. As a matter of fact, Mosher was injured laying it all on the line trying to stop a Pointer from a determined drive to the net. (Any word on her injury? Hope she's OK. She is a very good player.)

After they removed Mosher from the ice, the Pointers completely dominated the play. For the last 13 minutes of the 1st OT, Superior had only 2 rushes into the Pointer zone that resulted in 1 quality scoring chance. During that time, the Pointers had at least 6 quality scoring chances and the puck seldom left the Jacket's zone. With the exception of the early PP on (I agree) a poor call on Grossman, in the 2nd OT, the Pointers carried the play as well.

So, because of your loyalty to the NCHA, you are now going to root for "cheap shots" and "b*****s"? And, on top of that, you are making predictions?

I guess it's time for me to jump in.

I predict:
1. That you have caused some major indigestion in Pointerville.
2. That the Pointer / Gusties game will be another barn burner and the best team will win.

so that gojackets doesn't have to defend himself, please read post number 179 on the NCHA Women 06-07 thread. Someone used gojackets' login at work to post things under his name without his knowledge. As fanatically supportive he is of the yellowjackets, he has not posted such name-calling in the past.

How great is it that the Purple Pigeons of EC didn't make it with their so-so record???

5 losses by a total of 7 goals.....3 were against the #1 team in the country who they also tied.....if that is so-so it's pretty good to be so-so

Why not give Amherst and Manhattanville credit for doing what they had to do to get in.........

Amherst and Manny did the unbelievable. Congrats to Plummer and Hall for being the underdogs and coming up big. But doesn't it feel good to see the team in neon purple setting up tee times??

Now remember that next year! Point will go and represent the NCHA proudly and honorably.

Would hardly call Mville an "underdog" An under something else perhaps but not an underdog.
RIT out shot and out played Mville for the third time and I know the scoreboard counts only. The Mville goalie stole the game thats why those who questioned her All Conference selection should think again. RIT goalie played well too one break away goal a rebound tap in and a screenie did the freshman in. Amherst was an under dog and they really did something yesterday. At least RIT is still in and hopefully they can solve Amhersts obvious strong keeper

I'm not sure RIT can solve a Rubik's cube after watching them pour so many shots on yesterday. Their power play needs to be a lot better if they want to extend their season.

I am glad they got the nod over Elmira. The latest USCHO poll had Elmira ranked ahead of them (though I realize the NCAA had RIT ranked ahead, who knows how close they were or what might've changed after the conference tournaments). I think the Amherst upset (coupled with Platty's expected win) was the best news we could get short of beating M-ville.

I do have to extend sympathy to Elmira. It sucks for the fourth-ranked team in the East to miss out because of two upsets for the auto-bids. That's the way the cookie crumbles, but it still must hurt.
