In the West anything can happen.
What if OSU wins the WCHA title? Could happen if Vanderveer G and PP gets hot, which it can. Note 3 close 3-2 loses against UW.
Would OSU and UW get in to the Final 4?
What a political mess this would create.
If so we would have.
UW
OSU
Mercyh
and one team from either the ECAC or HE ...ie. DU or UNH a tough choice.
Far out but could happen
Commentary please.

I hope you didn't forget that there is a quarterfinal round first.

If OSU were to win the WCHA tournament, they'd get an automatic bid, but they'd likely be the last seed into the 8 team tourney. Assuming Mercyhurst is the #1 seed, they'd be travelling to Erie and need to take out the Lakers in the quarters if they hoped to be in the Frozen Four.
Currently OSU sits in the 11 slot in the pairwise. They're still a long way from Lake Placid and would need to get on a huge run to have any shot.

Right, and I don't think OSU's close games against Wisconsin are a sign they have a particularly great chance of winning. They're still 0-4. The reality is that when you're the best team anyone on your schedule plays all season, you always get their best game. While I'm sure Wisconsin would love to have remained perfectly consistent this season (and they're actually better than anyone else at doing that, I think), I doubt they've played their best game against OSU this season. If the teams meet in the WCHA semifinals, I'd expect OSU's going to face a much greater challenge in staying close with the Badgers.
