I think it's time for BC to have its own thread since we have the most fearsome offense in the land.

Thunstrom - Spillane - Zavista
Fardelmann - Stack - Keever

I've been fortunate enough to watch a lot of women's college hockey this year and I'd be stunned if there's a team anywhere in the nation with two better attacking lines. And I have yet to see a team that can come at you with three lines, really.

Thunstrom is going to be the best player in the country by the time she is a senior. She's up there already right now. I haven't seen a player with better moves.

Schaus is the best goalie in Hockey East.

The only question marks right now are:
1) the defense beyond Taverna and Stuart, and
2) what kind of production we'll get from the 3rd & 4th lines.

We're probably going to catch a lot of flak on this from the northern new england/midwestern elitists.....

but yeah. thunstrom will whip anyone, and i have never seen such a savage player--she's played with broken bones and after being down on the ice for 5 minutes in pain....

anyone even remotely close to her in skills is good. i havent seen that yet.

and BC is a contender. we're so much better than we were in the beginnign of the season. that St. Lawrence tie was a fluke. they got the luckiest goal to tie it with 18 seconds left.

GO EAGLES.

Don't forget, Thunstrom leads the league (I presume) in Haymakers Landed with 1. I wouldn't mess w/ #13

history has a way of repeaeating itself.

I haven't read these forums for long so excuse me if I'm incorrect, but aren't you a PC fan?

.................................................. ...............not even in the same stratosphere. That's all I'm gonna say. Wait 'til you face the iron of the schedule.

And as for 'history repeating itself,' history is a useless gauge of BC because we've never had a team like this. We've never had such a stacked (no pun intended) freshman class. Nor have we ever had a team with this kind of firepower. Hell it wasn't long ago that BC was crap anyways. Like I said, history has nothing to do with the BC women's team.

i have to once again agree with joe...our frosh are NUTSSSSSSSSS...

and providence fan....we look forward to coming down to ur arena once again. seriously. its a very nice, small arena, and ur fans/players/coaches were quite respectful to us as away fans--we try to return the favor while still being loud for our own team.

Not too many from Minnesota are going to question or disagree with your assessment of Allie "Thunder" Thunstrom.

The moniker "Thunder" courtesy of Wally Wakefield, local NSP Minnesota sports journalist.

Just a few thoughts.........

Have you ever heard of Chu, Agosta,Brine, Harbec, Vallaincourt, Apps, Piper, Faber, Chouinard, Bauer, Parsons? (I am sure I am leaving more out)

I understand you newbies are all excited about your new found success but relax there is still much hockey to play.

Have you ever heard DEFENSE wins championships? BC does not have the likes of a championship D.

I will agree with your assessment of your goaltender. She is your biggest asset going forward for BC.

How did your team play against Mercyhurst? Not well.

Haymakers are not supposed to be thrown in girls hockey.

The only "elitists" I have ever met are from BC.

There are teams out there with a great third line and one of them is in your league.

You had 7 strong opponents out of 20 the first half of your season and you have 4 out of 14 strong opponents left. This will help your first 2 lines with their second half stats. This will not help your goalie or your defense improve.

PC is in the same stratosphere. They get about the same amount of fans at their home and away games as BC. It is free admission. They are in the same league. They beat BC earlier this season. The only big difference is that they don't have that red headed retard sitting on the opposite side of the rink belittling the opposing fans, players and coaches. Might be the worst fan I have ever witnessed at a hockey game. (and I have been going to games for about 34 years) So BC gets first prize with their Red Headed Retard Fan. :D

As far as Thunstrom having the best moves in the land. Your own Kelli Stack is not so bad herself. I think she is under rated and would be a top 5 forward in the country with a better supporting cast. And I would put Sam Faber up against your #13 anyday. Moves? Faber is amazing to watch with the puck and without.

I don't think I left anything out as far as your posts are concerned. I for one am glad to see the improvement in BC because the league needed it. But you really need to settle down. You win and loose as a team. A whole team. Every player, every goalie, every coach. Not just 2 lines a goalie and a couple of D and one #13. Doesn't work that way. Your only as good as your weakest player.

Keever's done for the season, torn ACL vs. St. Lawrence.

Anna McDonald belongs on that list however; 4th on the team in scoring (19 GP, 8 G, 8 A).

It's great to see some enthusiasm , but , at the same time we need to
remember that , the posters listing the players names .. come from the
poster not the players .. The players listed would not proclaim themselves to
be anything other than hockey players , They do not claim that they are the best in anything . They like everyone else in the country hope that there hard
work , may get them an NCAA bid . They also realize that so far they have accomplished nothing except maybe some conversation about their potential .
reality is they have a long way to go yet ......But it is great to see a little
excitement about the program. Their are a lot of games yet to play , all we can hope for is that we continue to improve and grow as a team . The future
will take care of itself !!
Have a great Day everyone !!

It's premature to label BC (or IMO anyone other than Wisconsin and Mercyhurst) as a legit contender in the NCAAs but BC has some depth and punch in its lineup and is playing well. The biggest question mark I have, having seen a lot of BC's games this season, is how this young team will step up in tight games. They have looked very good when they can jump out to an early lead but have also had some disappointing losses and ties in games which I thought they could have won: tie vs. Princeton, loss to Providence, loss to Dartmouth, tie vs. St. Lawrence.

But they've been a fun team to watch this season and have a very bright future with all their young players. Go Eagles!

There is a fine line between exitement and being cocky. You have a good team at the heights. You should lead by your actions and not your lips. I can understand the excitement. It's natural. The best thing that ever happend to UNH is getting thumped by your eagles, because it grounded them and made them understand that records and rankings mean nothing. You still have to play every games week in and week out. I don't think your team has the poise to run the table for the rest of the year. Its still a long road. The most important thing is being consistant when march rolls around. The word on the street is that the biggest challenge will be getting all the ego's on the same page.

Did I ever say we had a great defense?

Did I ever say we were just going to steamroll to the national championship?

No.

And I don't think free admission/level of fan support has anything to do with the play on the ice.

Although I will add that I have never seen a BC fan belittle 'opposing fans, players and coaches.' So I'm not sure where yer' getting that one.

Haymakers are not supposed to be thrown in girls hockey.
Or in men's hockey. Or any sport other than boxing. It's called a joke. ;)

You should have sat near us at Conte last season when a couple of grouchy BC fans were belittling the Wildcats for having a few Canadians. It was pretty disgusting.

Well I can't speak to that as I didn't see it. I'm sure there are some morons everywhere. I can say that if I ever saw anyone behaving like that I'd certainly say something to them.

ohhh, ok, i was wondering about that red-headed fan as well, we havent seen anyone this year like that.

like i said, joe and i are (well, obviously, just go to our games) BC's loudest and most diehard fans, and one of our biggest things is being good, respectful fans. it's why we say 'poke' instead of 'sieve'.

anyone that goes to our games and wants to know the story about that, just ask. a few people think were trying to be vulgar--thats not the case at ALL.

and you know, i actually agree with what a bigggggg chuck of you guys are saying, to be blunt:

1) we;re very young, so we havent proven that we can make it in NCAAs in the long run. but i do think we have something of a chance, which most of you acknowledged is what we said before anyway. or what we were trying to say.

2) wow....didnt know about keever. that's ridiculously disappointing.

3) traveling man, i actually find that you made some pretty good points. yeah theres alot of fantastic players out there. i spose what were saying is allie belongs on that list, and that (as of yet) we havent actually SEEN anyone remotely as good.

4) also, mercyhurst was early in the season, before our youngun's were semester vets. and mercyhurst is also absolutely ridonkulous. it IS possible to beat them, if we step it up--they were beat (probably flukily) by SLU, and we really should have taken SLU if we could have held on from a late 4-2 lead. by extention, im saying hey, it's possible.

finally, yeah, we are new fans, and we appreciate how no one is ripping us to shreads over our enthusiasm for our team. for the most part we've found that women's hockey fans are more intelligent and respectful than the majority of those in other sports.

huzzah!

I think what Tony was trying to say is:

Mercyhurst>Wisconsin>the rest of us right now, but the Eagles [and their young forwards] at least deserve some of the respect given to that 'next tier' of teams. Sorry if it was mis-read. Obviously I was being a yahoo- it's the BC thread after all. I have never seen Mercyhurst or Wisconsin so I'm not going to try to compare anyone I've seen to them.

I'll echo the sentiments about the fans (and players) we've met so far. Great people. Except for this one person at Northeastern who I'm not even gonna talk about :D
